A short bit about me.75 years old. Started with Beeman and RWS spring guns in the 80's. Bought and sold lots of stuff. Got into PCP with a compressor and tanks. Still have a couple PCPs. For some reason I got a feeling I wanted a Red Ryder, adult stock. So I bought one.

  Made a big mistake and started reading the Daisy gate. I now have a RR, 499, model 25, and a model 35.

I just found a used model 840 Camo that looks brand new. That is my question for you all ....  How is the 840 single pump compared to rest of my Daisys? Won't get in for a couple weeks. Thanks and sorry for the Crosman in the photo but I only shoot bbs through it.

 i'll chime in..... 840 has a plastic valve that can leak!    I have the same one here, (camo, even has a F.O. front sight).
 Traded a working 35 for it, thinking I could fix it.

 I have tried everything, new seals, plenty of 30wt ND,  and you here it hiss as soon as you pump it.

If you rack the bolt,load it and then pump it and fire real quick, it acts as it should.
if you go slow, you here it hissing out.   good luck with it!

Did you try a new valve? The plastic one, or look at it? Anyway I since found some good reports on the 840, and I am sorry yours is leaking, I won't get mine for another week or so and I am hoping for the best. I found new valves on Amazon by the way

The 840 is kind of junk because of the plastic valve. The 1910 is way better they're basically a single pump version of the model 35 and have a metal valve.

I loved my 35, I also loved my early rifled barrel 840 but it started to leak recently and the plastic valve is toast so the gun is basically no good at this point.

That looks to be a piston, it's definately not a valve.

Yes, it was pointed out to me that this is the wrong part. My bad. Never been inside any Daisy but I should have been able to figure it out from the photo.

Just a little eager to find something useful.

Been through the PCP circus.
Just one left, the PRod.
But I have, and always will have, BB guns.
My first Model 25 traveled the world with me, Korea, Vietnam and West Berlin.
I bought one of the new ones when mine finally quit shooting.
Never shot the new one.
I sent it back.
I have a US Model 25.
