Another Issue with a Jammed Trap Release & more

Hello to you all.  I'm having a similar problem as in another previous post here with a TX200 that was jammed up.  My TX is brand new from PA as of yesterday.  In the first 20 shots the cocking lever locked up twice in the down position, with pellet in breech and the trap release jammed up on me.  The first time this happened and I fiddled with it, the cocking lever flew up under spring pressure.  Scary!!  The second time it happened, I was more ready for it.  I've had some suggestions here on this board that I have not tried yet.  (I'm a little hesitant to start shooting this gun again today)  My question is for anyone who might own a TX.  I notice that the trigger seems loose and has about 1/8"-1/4" free play in what I call "slop".  Seems it would have a return spring or something to hold it to the forward position until I start to pull the trigger.  Does this sound like your TX or is something missing on my trigger assy.?

Yeah, I've had a weekend to mull this over and that's exactly what I'm going to do.  This entire deal has left a very sour taste in my mouth.  For an airgun that costs that kind of money, this should have never happened.  Disappointing to say the least!

I have the same gun from the same place.
It has lifetime warranty so whatever happens I will just send it in. I really like the gun

Obviously something "funny" is going on inside.  It is not your responsibility to troubleshoot a brand new gun and doing so would probably void the warranty.  Contact Pyramyd for an RMA.  See if you can get them to send a shipping label as well.  You should not have to pay return shipping on a brand new gun.

Sounds like the trigger isn't engaging, so the anti beartrap mechanism is bearing the full force from the compressed spring.

        I realize that I'm a bit late in my responding, but I do have experience with your cocking issue. I own a TX200 MKIII, and initially I too was troubled by the rifle being, what I call anyway, half cocked. 1st of all, my TX200 did exactly the same as your's has. As you've probably already discovered, this is really a non issue, it's just how this rifle works. To properly cock the rifle and set the safety, you must initially pull the cocking lever beyond the 3 dedents and then just a tad more. Although the rifle is now fully cocked and the safety set, don't let go of the handle, now its safe to load the pellet. Pull back a tad on the cocking  lever while releasing the anti-'beartrap followed be the gentle return of the cocking lever to it's locking place at the barrel. You should now be ready to fire after you release the safety. As to your trigger experience:  my lever has a very small bit of slop from side to side but none fore and aft. I beleave that your trigger will break in after a couple of hundred shots and that you'll love your TX200 as much as I do mine. Orv

As suggested, a new rifle like that should go right back to PA.

As far as the trigger flop, that is sometimes caused by the profile of the middle sear. A slight modification to the sear resolves it.
