I have a Hatsan 95 and a Walther Talon Magnum (basically Hatsan 125) that I Want to soft bed. Here as Mac's post on bedding.
http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=66631.0
I bought a roll of 1/8 neoprene that was so dense that I couldn't compress it.
Could anyone who has done a bedding help me with finding the proper neoprene?

I just read the post, one used a clamp to compress it enough to get the screws to catch a few threads to start torque to normal retighten after a few rounds and repeat .
Might try narrower strips as they would compress a bit easier

One of the great members is sending me some of the neoprene that Mac1 was offering in the original soft bedding post.

I have extra parts from another member years ago when he didn't have a use for them. Which screws were you referring to?

Hatsan screws are made of poor quality steel. Replace the 2 front screws on the forearm, & the rear stock screw. ACE hardware has replacements. Just take your to match. I wouldn't use any leftover screws because they may be the same poor quality.

The Hatsan doesn't have two screws in the fore stock. The special bolt that goes through the stock and Delrin type barrel anchor point (SAS) isn't something that Ace would have.
Thanks for your reply.

OK, I've got the neoprene but the sticky back is not very sticky. What would you suggest I glue it to the stock with.?
Everyone has been very helpful.

I used pond liner to soft bed a few of my more twangy springers.
It's cheap and a little thinner than 1/8".
Pond liner has good compressive strength, and poor elastic strength.

Excellent suggestion, but those are not regular screws.

For an adhesive I would first try plain rubber cement. Apply some to the neoprene and the wood of the stock. Let it set for a few minutes and the stick the two parts together. It is not a permanent bond and can be peeled off and repositioned if needed. If that doesn't provide a strong enough bond I'd say you're going to have to go with a superglue. The best superglues come from auto glass shops. If you can find the one for gluing rubber gaskets to glass or metal that's it.

Not all Hatsan springers have the SAS system holding the front of the stock to the action. Those that don't, or the cheapest models, can have their front stock screws replaced with hardware store equivalents. The SAS system is a world onto its own, and no replacements are to be had there.
That being said, I haven't experienced the SAS system loosening up with use, as is the case with most any conventional springer's front stock screws. There's little need to touch the SAS screws, so they last just fine.
