Daystate Huntsman Revere or Air Arms S500?

Sorry I have posted this in the field target section just got one hit. Anyway, which one should I pick in .177 ? Considering parts availablity, warranty, service…..

I own a Daystate Huntsman Regal in .22, I owned a AA 500 .177, my Daystate is still my most accurate PCP.
I never could get the AA to match my Daystates accuracy.

I don't think you could go wrong with either one.  Honestly, I think it's just the one that creates the most enthusiasm in you.  Beside that, if you had the opportunity to shoot before buying would be great.  But I don't think you could be disappointed either way.

Yeah agreed . We need more airgun shops

I own neither but they are both good.  Since you said you first posted this in the FT forum I will say I see more AA500 rifles being shot in FT.  If it was my money I would buy the Daystate as that is the best looking air rifle ever made.  One day I will own one.

I would probably lean daystate as I believe A of A is an authorized warranty and repair center. Not sure about air arms as far as that is concerned.

I own the Revere in .177. It quickly became my latest "go to" back yard pesting rifle! Zeroed with 10gr ammo (any that I've tried) it shoots great out to my 45-50 yard preference.  Scoped with a Nikon ProStaff EFR and moderated with Donny Tanto, it has great balance and great looks.

I can add the following:
I can't offer a direct comparison because I have a Daystate HRXL unregged .22, and an AA S510 .22.  They are both incredibly accurate, based on the far too little shooting time I've had with them side by side.  The AA gets the nod for versatility, with the variable power and nice magazine. This is the one I prefer shooting from bench/rest.   The HRXL gets the nod for being slightly more compact and balanced, and for being full lefty, making it a much better gun to handle in the woods.  And it is a little prettier, but the bluing on the AA stocks, and the laminate stocks they sell, are top notch.

AA's PCP platforms are very easy to work on should something go wrong. Not sure where that ranks on priority for you but reseal jobs are easy and so is adjusting them.

Tough choice....

Daystate for the look and feel...
Air Arms for the ratio...

Indeed, Air Arms is easier to work on.

Can't go wrong with either. Both are more accurate than the shooter. I lean myself more to Air Arms. Air Arms is less 'proprietary'.

Another thing I've found about the non-electronic Daystates I have owned...they aren't particularly friendly to change power levels on.  They tend to have preload spacers for the hammer springs, etc.  Really a "take out of the box and shoot it" gun, in my opinion.

I prefer guns that shoot from the box I don’t like tuning

You won't have to do any tunning out of the box on an AA, but the ability to do so on that platform is there should you choose to do so.
 

You don't hear much about AAs on the forums because they don't have many issues and are boringly accurate. Usually I'd knock a company for not innovating, I love BSA but they haven't done much since 2010 and the new  CLX platform is meh, but AA's S series platform is rock solid.

That being said you'll be happy with either one.  I've got an Daystate X2 and Huntsman and theyre both great guns.
