HW 98 new and old model

Only two differences I know of, the older, like prior to this year,  had the stock with the black stippling, new has a redesigned stock all one color.  A few years ago the barrel was changed to include a threaded on end that could be removed for attachment of a moderator.  I am not sure if the barrel length changed.  I am unaware of other differences but I doubt there is a difference in the guns performance.

Total lengths of the two barrels look about the same. I believe the barrel on the non threaded 98s is effectively longer. The weight on the threaded barrel is a weight and not rifled. I wouldn't worry about accuracy because shorter barrels are often less hold sensitive and have less POI shift between different pellets because there's harmonic travel is less on a shorter barrel.

The Mk1 Beeman R11 was very BSF. A different Rekord with a slide safety. The one that came on some BSF's. Shorter stock.

That's what I thought Ron but wasn't sure.  I believe the new barrel is 12.25 and the older maybe 16?  With the weight in place the OAL looks the same.

As everyone has said, the stock and barrel changes should affect nothing but your perception of the gun.

The stock maybe less grippe, but use can always add a textured paint if needed - probably not necessary.
The barrel tip is threaded for the addition of a moderator, but not really needed.
The barrel is shorter, but the TX Pro-Sport only has a 9.5" barrel - so accuracy unaffected; velocity my be up a little.

FWIW-I like the newer one better. 
However, the fore-end is too skinny!  It is like holding a toothpick.
