Squirrel Season opener today

Got a couple with my aircuda max .22 today.

Mosquitoes were kinda bad though but still an enjoyable hunt and food for the pot.

I envy you.  I have to wait until October to hunt squirrels on my permission and then late November before the public WMAs open.

Thanks.  I usually wait til Oct to go but I couldn't resist it today.

I like to wait til it frosts to take leaves off and knock down the bugs lol.

Looking great Buddy, a nice pair for a days hunt. Season opened Aug 15th in GA and I went opening day. Bugs galore, temp in the 90's, huidity, some rain... Haven't been back again yet, waiting for cooler weather.

Tom the rifle is a JTS Aircuda Max .22 that I refinished the stock on.

When I was growing up our season didn't come in until October either so this is a treat lol.

I was going to wait until it frosted to go again but my grandson wants to go Monday so we'll see.

Neither of my grandsons has the least amount of interest in hunting.

I am 30 and enjoy hunting with my grandpa more than ever. He will be 80 in October and still hunts deer with a bow!

I am very very thankful for his good health and all the outdoors memories we've shared!

Another Notos Safari on USACOE land.  I spooked a doe at dusk and 10 minutes later a little fawn followed.  Looks like a good location for camera two.  Once again I could hear treerats and they dropped some chestnut grenades at me.  I caught a glimpse of one at sunset about 60' up in a grand old oak.  Never got my crosshairs on anything but leaves....patiently waiting for leaves to fall...October will be fun. PM me when the Georgia temps get closer to "fall"  and you're ready for another woodswalk sir.
