I know the history of 2 of the three I own since they were purchased new. I think I would prefer to keep them in that unmodified condition. The Sheridan family of air rifles is probably one of the most value retentive airguns available in the numbers which they are. Meaning they are not rare, they just continue to survive the tests of time. I believe every airgun enthusiast would do well to have at least one in their arsenal.
I have yet to receive mine but here is the link:https://www.gunbroker.com/item/998883206I think it's one of the late models since it has NY stamping.I don't see it as a particularly valuable model (that seems to be the older the better) so I figure why not try to upgrade it.Then again, I'm dumb sometimes.I feel like I got it for a decent price considering most go for over 300 these days.
Here are three rifles rescued by Tim McMurray. The two lefty's had separated barrels. The bottom rifle is a Mac1 steroid conversion. All three rifles exhibit outstanding workmanship.
