Isn't it purportedly a clone of the Diana 34 T05 unit?

It will be one of the rifles I'll be looking at after it has sat a very long time, received from Baker Airguns as used and good condition, shot cycle was harsh and pattern was best described as shotgun. OK, so be it, but I found a nice video, but not in English, and wonder if it is the same trigger.

BTW, didn't intend to bash Baker Airguns, I suppose they didn't test fire it for groups.

I believe the Ruger you have is an early release of the Diana 34 clone from China. The latter models look more to be the Chinese Beeman'ish models.  Look up the Ruger Model on YouTube,...as well as the Diana 34 trigger group. There may be slight differences, but they are usually pretty faithful replications. The best advice I can offer is to use drift pins to assemble the trigger group together and for installation into the action. There is a YouTube video on this too. makes life a lot easier. good Luck

It should be a cheap copy of a T05 trigger unit, the 1 you have pictured is a T01 trigger unit, not the same at all! I had an Air Hawk several years ago and a B25 from Mike Melick, both had the T05 clone trigger in them,

Strange, near as I could tell this was what appeared to match.

I fired it a couple times last night to see how the trigger felt - piston didn't seem to be slamming the end of the chamber.

I was new to springers when I last tried evaluating it, so maybe all my assumptions and recollections are "faulty".

I'm apparently wasting bandwidth, reckon I need to look at it a little more respectfully.

The T01 trigger unit was exclusive to Diana air guns, the T01 trigger unit went out of production in the early 2000's the T05 was the next trigger upgrade from Diana, Bam a Chinse company made versions of various air guns like the TX200 and the Diana 34" and 350mags, the Ruger Air Hawk is Bam's version of the Diana 34, it's not a 100% copy but it's close, IIRC the Ruger version was introduced around 2011,

Good Eye Mark, I didn’t even click on the YT video,…I just assumed Steve’s Ruger was just an early 34 T-05 clone from his description. I had an early 34 with the T-01 trigger and it was a good trigger group but a pain in the butt to reassemble. I almost bought the same Ruger at Walmart but never did. I think they also sold another Ruger model but in a 350 clone. Later they changed Chinese companies/production to entirely different model,…..which took it off my list of potential chinclone purchases. Like I said before, there are plenty of YT vids that discuss these triggers.

I had to shoot about 1K CPHP's before the barrel started shooting them well, then after about 1200 pellets my ball detent gave away, and the gun was done! I would try some RWS Super Domes or FTT's or JSB pellets, to see what they do, My B25 same gun accept in .22cal shot the Super Domes the best, you also might want to lap the bore with some mother's mag wheel polish!  Chinese barrels are not the cleanest or cleanly rifled barrels to begin with, those are my suggestions to help you out! I don't own any Chinese guns anymore, learned my lessons yrs ago and only stick with HIGHER quality manufactured air guns, not that all the Chinese guns are bad, but they need a lot of work, sometimes you can turn a sow's ear into a silk purse, if your serious about the gun you need to open it up and look inside to make sure all is well or if seals need to replaced, bad breech or piston seals will cause the stringing or shot gun pattern on your targets, I would also recommend using a scope to see if the accuracy is what it is!

If you've not cleaned the barrel you may wish to start there.  Air guns are usually filthy when received.  In addition to Mark's suggestions you should probably check the crown at the end of the barrel.  A defective crown job will cause very erratic groups.

I can definitely clean the barrel and check the crown. Maybe first bend the barrel back down though? I got a fixture for that, but I liked what I read here about making one from a 4X4, mine's two vee's cut from 2X4's.

Apparently it was shooting low and I bent it up, now it's shooting high. It did have a scope before, the target posted is with irons...

Pulled it out again, 3, 5, 10 rounds, 15 yards, different ammo (Norma FFT Heavy).

Shot very high with the irons, but that's expected since I had bent the barrel up for the scope, then took it off for another rifle some years back.

Notes say it went to pot (above), not sure yet.

Group was about 2" with the irons, should probably have been one, but who knows with the new pellet selection because I didn't bother to look here and see what I had used last time.

So, ten rounds at the target, ten more through a chrono. When using the chrono it's a strap-on chinese thingy, and the gun points down at the ground, no idea if this matters. With the high 804 I think it computed to 6%, but without, it's 4%. Seems like the ES wouldn't account for a 2" group, so back to diagnostics like maybe cleaning the barrel first.

This one's got a history, kinda spelled out in this old thread and another linked thread.

It came with a scope (not AO). I bent the barrel upwards to put it on target and it had good groups at first, then opened up. Life happened and it got set aside for years. At some point I took off the scope for a Henry .22 pb.

It recently got retried - shot very high with the irons but group showed some promise (at least I thought so, but I didn't recall the initial groups, so who knows).

The Flying Dragon XS25 I got off the classifieds came with a scope, which was removed, so I put it on the Airhawk. No joy at about 15 yards, moved to 5 yards and aimed at the base, 6-8 inches high. I was thinking since it was initially low and I had bent the barrel, it should be OK with a different scope.

You can tell just by looking at it the scope points down, so I'm thinking drooper mount. No markings on the mount, suppose I could turn the scope around and see. I'll probably look up how much compensation they (typically) provide.

Moral of the story (so far), before bending the barrel try it with irons unless you are sure it's going to stay scoped? Still, not complaining, it's a learning experience...
