Been a little while since posting. I have enjoyed catching up on all the new thoughts and experiences. Pulled out my one and only air rifle and my crony and checked function in this stock unit. - JSB Diabolo RS 7.33 - 640 fps- Crosman Pointed 7.4 - 670- Crow Mag - 9.26 - 540- Crosman Premier 7.9 HP - 580- Crosman 10.5 domed piranha - 480 I'm always debating in my little mind regarding getting a more powerful Weirauch....but my little vermin about my house seem to succumb well to the low/slow path of the HW30 fodder. Regards to all.

Some very excellent points raised....thank you!So...let me ask this another way......knowing what i use now...and so enjoy out to 25 yds......do I gain a valuable pesting addition to add an HW50 or even Diana 48 to my arsenal.....or is it just finding the proverbial excuse to enjoy MORE! Or would you replace my 30 with a 50? Can I accomplish all my small animal residential pesting needs with current weapon? And for when I return to south Florida in the future, how is the iguana power of my HW30?
If you are shooting the baby green iguanas your HW 30 should do fine. HOWEVER, if you shoot mature 3-4++ foot iguanas their skin is too tough to penetrate with a HW 30 UNLESS you can get a direct back of the head shot. A body shot, at least on their back if shot from above will just bounce off if the angle is not direct. If a mature iguana is running directly away from you your best chance is to shoot them where a hind leg meets their body. Lots of blood and a 3 legged iguana that needs a second shot to finish them off. -YPS PM me if you need any more iguana hunting tips.

To your point{s) - I have never shot an airgun at an Iguana on the run and wouldn't. Ditto rabbits and squirrels. But when they hold up at acceptable HW30 distance(s) and peer around I take head shots. I have only missed once that I can think of. The HW 30's are that accurate. All Best from CT in summer and St. Thomas in winter. (we rarely see Ig's over 3 feet anymore)
