Lothar Walther Slow Twist Pellet Barrels

For those of you not aware, LW are now making .22 and .25 cal airgun barrels in a 30" twist.... If you are having problems with pellets spiralling at longer ranges, you might want to give them a try....

I'm thinking these would extend the potential accuracy at range for wadcutters and Polymags, as well as big-meplat HPs like Ultra-Shocks.

200 calibres twist rate (36" / 0.177" = 203) is getting towards the slow end, as we know it so far.... but a few years ago, who would have thought that 100-200 calibre twist rates were optimum for pellets (or even worth trying) ?.... The first "slow twist" barrel I am aware of was the .30 cal with a 26" twist rate that Sean Pero and I designed for TJ's a decade ago.... We would have gone slower on the .357, but at that time TJ's could not make anything slower than 26"....

There have been a few reports of .22 Avengers with slow twist rates -- 1 in 30 to 1 in 40.  Unclear if it was a manufacturing goof or intentional...
