CVantage .22 < CVan.22
A low costing Wood stock Nitro Piston Air rifle. Not as long as most other AG. Mine feels under 7lbs, i dont have a weight scale..
150 shots in, still smoking a bunch. Added a #6 flat washer under the rear sight rear screw to avoid adjusting too far up where the sight adjust screw can fly off, happened 2x on a SATG1 < B19 .177 Spring piston in nice adjustable stock.
I removed the excellent flat washers from the CVan and installed them in the RWS M34. Front screws are in without the flat washers, fornow. Wood on connection points have been strengthened with Cyanoacrylate, Superglue. Stock screws have been blue locktighted.
I am thinking to switch stocks Between the CVan and the SATG1 before August to have a WxResistant AG < NitroPiston in a Polymer stock. Ill think about it before that time. August is when i begin pursuit of Medium/ Large feathers.

Does very good at 30 yards with open sight. Ill add a Barska 4x32mm MD AO with 1 pc mount somewhere around 250 shots in.
I Adjusted the trigger screw out to add travel. I have two ways of dropping the piston. 1st is to normally travel though the trigger feeling for the pressure wall. If i fine adjust further i can find a nice wall to stop on, i have yet to get there. Another is to pull to add travel on the trigger, back off the trigger, your finger returns to a good stop. The RS2, the Gamo SAT and B19Crosmans trigger does this when adjusted out enough. Remove some travel, back off and return to a good stop. Others here add longer screws to remove trigger travel.
I have a more precise weight scale on the way. The current one measures with in .01grams, New one measures .001grams
1 gram is 15.43grains, i think i remember right.
Thankyou for reading.

Pellet fit, headsize to barrel fit is important in breakbarrel use. Using pellets that fit too loose or too tight will generate lower power. Even more important for accuracy is finding pellets with consistent shape and fit. From the above performance, im thinking i can get better numbers< lower spread and possibly higher FPE with HNB 15s @ 15.9gr, and possibly ESpike 15.4gr, HNTerminator 16.3gr.
These GHI 15.4gr can be accurate if i weigh them before hand, setting the lighter and heavier ones aside. I dont have a caliper to measure head size, SO it seems if i sort by weight, they can be very good, i dont sort by weight, yet... I weight 10 pellets at once to get average weight of 10 random pellets . A set of Calipers may be in the road ahead of me. Alot of smackdown upon pellet impact.

Some months ago i had switched stocks between the SwissArms TG-1 .177 and the CrosmanVantage .22.
I have yet to but i would like to open the breech leade some, the crown appears good even and clean.
Trigger is adjusted out, some travel and a good stop. This once had heavy short travel withoutout a stop, before adjusting the trigger.
I mounted a Hammers 3-9x32mm AO MD on a tall Atom Mount.
Before the chrono run I cleaned the barrel then shot 10 times to get the scope close to hitting and to also to relead the barrel some amount.

The Crosman F4 arrived on 11.15. 2023, a windy stormy day. The box was not covered by another box, so during shipping the box was damaged, water damage. But all items in the box were safe. The CP 4x32 scope and bikini covers , two piece 11mm mounts and the owners manual all good. The airgun was in a plastic to protect from moisture, good not a drop of water on the Air rifle, despite the box being soaked. Good.
First handling, feels a little long at 46, 3/8" < 1178mm measured from top of the buttpad to the muzzle. The Shrouded Baffled Barrel is around 20, 3/4" < 528mm. It appears the barrel is 16" < 407mm leaving 4,3/4"< 121mm of baffling. The weight is not light not heavy either might be >6.5lbs before being scoped. Nice pistolgrip and shape in the forearm of the stock, the side is lightly textured. Handling the F4 feels quick even though it feels a tad long. Like All Synthetic stocks there are mold lines, easily removed by running the back edge of a knife.
Before beginning i removed a forearm screw to see what is under,,, good no washers of anykind, next tightened the stock screws. Breech seal looks good but the Breech Leade has very little taper. I reworked the leade and opened the taper a little bit, just enough. Looking at the crown past the baffles with a flashlight, appears to be a straight cut without a crown. Ok not great but if the Airgun does good at +30 yards ill be happy. Im wondering if the baffles are threaded in as there are 4 notches uncentered in the shroud muzzle face as though a tool fits to thread in the baffles. ? But,, even if i did get the baffles off there is around 4, 3/4", or 121mm between the shroud and the end of the barrel. I dont see a way to recrown... but not an issue ATM. Just thought id note that.
Before placing the order i had in mind a Break barrel Air Rifle that will shoot CPUM 10.5gr and shoot them Good. The CPUM 10.5gr are Snug to Tight in most of my Spring Piston and Gasram Air rifles. This is the opposite way things should be setup. I have alot of other Air rifles that shoot all my other pellet types good. I just needed 1 that will shoot the CPUM 10.5gr good.
I had just gotten off work, so I was already running low on shoothing light. The first shots as a function test without the scope mounted and using CPUM 10.5gr. The adjustable metal trigger as i recieved it the travel is Long and not heavy. The CPUM 10.5gr have a good to lightly snug fit. Good just what i wanted. After this storm passes ill be adjusting the trigger to where i like it. I was very suprised with how quiet this F4 is,, very quiet. I shot around 30 times.
Taking a look at the included rings first I cleaned off the crooked tape and added Vinyl Electric tape to include a +1 shim in the rear. For the first 250+ shot i will be using the included mounts and scope. At times an Air rifle will include wonky rings. The included rings look ok. After mounting the rings and scope i can see the rings are canted to the left about< +1mm. Seeing this i removed some material on the rings using a file then mounted the rings the other way around. Doing this brought the rings closer to mounting level. Using rings that lean to the side would cause longer shots to hit a little off to the side. I already have a 1pc mount and a 3-9x32mm or 4x32mm AO MD that i will be mounting later after more shots are run through. As the light began to fade i got the F4 to get close to hitting on at 15 and 20 yards, but the 21 mph winds from the 5 o clock position was abit too much to trust my POI. The first shots were hitting off to the right. Adjust left and a little down to get close.
The next day i removed and remounted the scope having checked if the Gamo medium rings i have would work. The recoil pin is a little oversized to fit on the F4. Again another windy day so i send a bunch of shots through the +20 mph winds not minding POI getting blown around.
Seems today the weather is calm enough to get the F4 sight in. The CenterPoint 4x32mm scope is shorter and lighter than most other scopes. The image is mostly clear, a little distortion near the edges. This will work good at 20-40yards, until i upgrade the scope and mount at a later time.

I've had this since the end of May. I opened the breech leade and recrowned the barrel. I used superglue to strengthen the stock attachment points on the wood stock. Added Blue lock tight on stock screws.
I bent the barrel to make it shoot straight as the sight was adjusted much right.
I have used CPUM 14.3gr and they have done very good. Today I found that CPHP has a better fit and makes a little more velocity.
Good very tight spread with both pellets. POI is very close with CPHP hitting a hairball left with CPUM sightIn. Changed sightIn to CPHP 14.3gr. I'll be mounting a Barska 4x32mm AO MD soon.
