Got out as a E4/CPL which was lucky...think I picked up with a 1735-40 cutting score. The 51's had it even worse.

It was a small world and so many of us know friends-of-friends since we went to so many of the same schools (Basic, Advanced, Urban, High Alt/Winter package etc..) Also, if anyone is curious about joining the Marines and/or wanted to be infantry (and maybe hopes to get into a sniper platoon) PM me. I'll give you an honest opinion and answer any questions you might have (and if I don't have an answer, point you in the right direction).

Vietnam 1967 through 1969

Tet offensive - 1968 I was on an APC behind a 50 Cal. machine gun during this. The rest of the time I was behind an M60 machine gun escorting convoys around South Vietnam as far north a Da Nang. (SP?) It seems like this happened four life times ago. Forty nine years ago now. Sometimes I had doubts about making it back home. I never dreamed I would live as long as I have. This old timer has two motorcycles for sale. I just sold a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 650r. I bought a SYM CityCom 300i motor scooter with as automatic transmission. It will carry my wife and I 70 MPH on the freeway all day long. Gas mileage is around 70 to 75 MPG. If I keep it around 45 or 50 MPH I'll get upwards of 100 MPG, maybe higher. My wife loves riding with me. I can't wait for this darn snow to be gone. Two days ago we got 8" of snow in the small town where my wife and I live. It's hard to believe but we did. There was a light blizzard all night and through most of the morning. Snow plow trucks were out during the morning clearing the roads. It warmed up and most of it was gone during the afternoon. The next day the rest of it melted. I hope by the first of May I'll be riding my new scooter. We'll know soon enough. Be safe my friends.
