So I up graded my sniper hr to the magnum in 22cal so I could make use of the heavier pellets and try slugs. As usual the 18.13 JSB shot really well from 860-960fps. The 25.39monsters redesigned were ok-ish at the factory setting but not flash( 860fps). I bumped the reg upto 170/175(from 150) and about 3/4 of a turn on the hammer(in steps). This got me just shy of 900fps and way better groups plus es of 2. The 25 H&N .217 slugs are about 880 and group pretty well.  Question is for those that have played with the Brocock magnum , is this about max for speed? And would dropping to 21gn slugs and gaining speed help with accuracy? The 25's were terrible until I tweaked up to where I am now. Not worried if I'm at max now. Just don't want to mess up what I have trying for something that isn't there.

I can't answer your question directly, but I did buy a used, (it looked new and hardly fired) magnum from a reputable dealer and played with it for a week or so, and could not get anything to shoot well. This is quite amazing because my Bantam Sniper is one of, if not THE most accurate rifle I own out of eight pcps. It is also not pellet picky at all. I have it tuned to shoot 16gr pellets at just under 900fps and it's a laser. My Bantam is a HR bolt action, and the magnum was an XR sidelever  and I loved it and how smooth it fed, but it just didn't seem like it was going to shoot, so I made a return trade and am happy with my choice. I had ideas of converting my bolt Bantam to the side lever but in the end, I moved on.
If I were you, I'd start from scratch. I know the Bantam is factory set at 140BAR reg, so I'd call AOA and ask about the magnum. (I would think they are pretty close, and the barrel and valve are the main differences), and check the reg and turn the hammer down, and start over.
