a few hours ago i was looking at the barrel band, considering drilling it to fit.
but now that i know the challenger band will fit....probally the route ill take.
great ideas guys....thanx for all the insight.
for the little screw that gets stripped eaisly....on my 2260 i sloted it for flat head use...works alot better, allowing you to really crank down on it!
please direct me to a source that sells disco/crosman parts so i can drain my bank account.

Mrod clamps are actually just guards. They don't touch anything on the barrel, they're floating.
Doing good bro. Learning and shooting.

Compress the breech and tube together with a clamp and see if the breech screw will tighten more.
Test the velocity with a quick hard trigger pull vs squeeze. If it shoots slower on the squeeze mode the sear needs to be recut and hardened or replaced.
Factory hammer sears can get rounded off or come without the correct cut so when the trigger is pulled vigorously the velocity is 100 fps higher than when it is squeezed slowly.
The verticle group spreads you show seem to indicate there is some sort of variable speed issue.
