Oops, attempted to uncock my perfectly fine TX and the bear trap mechanism is jammed.
This is what I did. Rifle is cocked,I pulled down under lever cocking lever, held on to lever, released safety & pulled trigger. Resistance felt on lever when trigger pulled. Can’t return lever as bear trap mechanism jammed. Help anyone?

I'd probably start by attempting to cock the gun and see if the situation improved. If not, when holding pressure on the cocking arm does the bear trap feel like it's moving normally? If you can't depress it it's not releasing the bear trap. If you can depress it but the bear trap does not release something is broken internally. Disassembly may be required. Use extra care as the spring when cocked is under a LOT of pressure.

Tried that, bear trap mechanism not depressing, not releasing. Rifle cocked, pellet in barrel, underlever in downward position.
Usually just fire off round, thought I should know how to decock.
Should of known better to leave well enough alone. Guess I’ll be reading up on disassembly.

1. Cock the rifle again.
2. Safety come out?
3. Release Safety.
4. Hold cocking bar.
5. Pull trigger while holding bar tight!!!
6. While holding bar tight, depress and HOLD anti-bear trap!
7. Slowly allow handle to return to the barrel.
But if you say there is a pellet in the breech, cock the gun as normal.
Return cocking arm to barrel after releasing anti-bear tarp.
Release safety
Fire rifle.
Don’t try and leave a pellet in an un-cocked rifle again!

Thanks all for help. Jam fixed got lucky.
I guess this jam happens once in a while doing everything correctly as I read on WWW preparing for the worst, a dissassembly. Oh no !
I’ll take stupid luck.

Live Liner,
I was just getting ready to post here with the same problem. My TX200 is brand new today. I ordered it from PA yesterday and UPS delivered it today. WOW! I have been lusting for this gun for a long time. I sprung for the extra $10 to have them put 10 shots thru it, so on paper it looks fine. Within the first 20 shots, the bear trap release jammed on me twice while there was a pellet in the breech. Both times when I fiddled with it and got it to release, the cocking handle flew up under spring pressure. The second time I was ready for it but now I'm hesitant to stick my fingers in the breech for loading purposes. I will try some of the suggestions given here as I don't imagine that anyone is manning the telephones tomorrow at PA. I gotta tell ya that after waiting for so long for this gun (and I'm talking years) what a disappointment! (Like buying a new car and the first day out, it leaves you stranded on the highway) I am totally bummed. Looking like the gun will be going back on Monday either way!

Rule Number One - ALWAYS hold the cocking lever when inserting fingers (and pellets) into the breech. The anti bear trap is good put it's not perfect. The gun is capable of damaging or even removing fingers or parts thereof. If the anti bear trap is not releasing easily there is probably still pressure on the mechanism. It may not be fully cocked. You can usually release pressure by pulling cocking lever a bit while depressing the release. This will allow you to uncock the gun without firing if you wish.

The incident today with this new TX200 has made me a believer. And especially with getting a good grip on the cocking lever. Tomorrow I will try some of these suggestions just to see if I can avoid sending the gun back to Pyramid Air. If i can make it work, it will certainly save a lot of hassle and shipping time and costs. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

If either the first or second stage screw is turned too far in the gun may "think" the trigger is pulled and the sear will not latch to hold the piston. Back each adjustment screw out one to two full turns and try it again.

Thanks I will give this a try today. Will this increase the pressure required to pull the trigger?

I try this few week ago without knowing I could uncock my TX200. Learn something new everyday.
