Another yard digger down!
Dinh , great shot, hope the Pinty stays true! Yes those darn "diggers" can cause fits. When they start planting walnuts in our plant/flower beds I" persuade " them to find other suitable locations for the landscaping endeavors, sometimes they accompany the seed to the new location & remain as "moral support".
As I rolled into the driveway I spotted these nasty shrub destroying rodents, Took me 3 shots to hit the first one, then I discovered a 2x4 was in the way of the pellet path, adjusted and DRT, then another was 5 yards or so off to the right of the first one, unaware of the sniper on the hunt DRT frontal head shot. I did spot a 3rd, but he hopped off before I could get a lclear shot. P-Force on patrol.
Spotted this property wrecker when I got home from work. It saw me and ran back into the woods. I went inside and grabbed the P-pup. I got under the deck, made myself a wallflower against the house's vinyl siding, and waited. About 10min later, the nutter popped back into the yard. A deck legging and the 100ft of garden hose hanging from it, partially obstructed the nutter and me. It caught my moment when I went to shoulder the P-pup, and froze in its tracks. It left me with only the broad side of its left thorax. It was only about a 10yd shot, so I was certain a lung shot would be effective. With a bit of a holdover, I gently squeezed the trigger. I heard that lovely thwack of pellets meeting hide. The nutter was pushed sideways, but quickly recovered its balance and ran up the nearest tree. It frantically tried to scale the tree, but changed direction back to the ground. It disappeared behind the large oak, and I could hear a bit of leaves rustling........then silence.I waited about 5 minutes before proceeding towards the direction of where I last heard it.A double lung shot causing severe blood loss. Another property wrecker permanently removed.
