Do you have any Chrono #s on your Umarex pumper (which model)? He wants a little more power than the Crosmans or his Daisy 880. He said he had a couple of squirrels run off after he shot them with the 880. He just came over and we put it through my Beta Chrony and it's shooting CP/CPH 7.9 @ 680-683fps and RWS Superdome 8.3 @ 665-670fps. Not too bad. This power level should have killed the squirrels inside 15 yards, so I think he is not taking good head shots. He shooting open sights and refuses to put a scope on it, so I am pretty sure it's his aim, and not the Daisy 880's power, because I have taken squirrels with head shots with less powerful .177 pumpers in the high 500's to 600fps. But... he wants more power and looking for another pumper, so any info on the Umarex would be appreciated.
I had an opossum get into my attic, it was just nasty. Cleanup and repair the damage just completed. I didn't expect another animal problem so soon. Just a week went by and we have squirrels in the attic. They tore through the eaves and moved in. Enough is enough!I haven't shot my FT-Rod since 2021, so full tear down, scope off, barrel off, new O-rings, etc. I put it back together and sighted it in at 25 yards. I took the shot on this one at 30 yards by my scope parallax indicator. It was near the ground on the side of a tree. The entry point was top of the head, exit bottom of the neck. Lights out.I only took a picture of the first one, but I got three!I also see that we now have a hawk nesting in the top of a tree in the back yard. This is my first post in the hunting gate with a critter. Hunter

Any thing larger I general use one of my other rifles.I have taken a few squirrels with it, but those were all close range head shots. This rifle would not be my first choice for hunting.I don't have a chronograph so I can't supply that type of data.Best Wishes - Tom

Much appreciated! I told him to look for a used 2240 with at least a 14" barrel and a good "moderator" at least 6" long (which adds to the velocity), or order one from Crosman since he doesn't want a springer or PCP. I am trying to basically convince him that he needs a .22 with a little more FPE than the pumpers he has, if he wants them DRT all the time.... which is really not true But I have concluded that bro is not that good a shot or hunter (he only started shooting pests last year), so .22cal will compensate some for his not so-good shot placement.
The 362 totally escaped me! Thanks guys!
