James, that M-Rod sure looks sharp!
I like the looks of the walnut stocks much that I ordered one for my M-Rod.
It looks like the tube is in two pieces. Is it steel where the hammer slides and titanium or aluminum where the air goes?

Hunter, you might be familiar with that particular barrel . It shoots really nice. I did take the barrel port up to a conservative .161 and the rifle is somewhat choked back with the stock .141 TP. I could not get the rifle back below 60 fpe with a .161 TP. It has the Tim Hill valve.

Yes, 54 fpe is more than enough to off a HOSP. I take no chances, a charging HOSP enraged is nothing to take lightly!

That is a two piece tube. It is from AGR (Air Gun Revisions). It is over all longer than stock, thicker sidewalls in the front section and therefore cannot be regulated. The forward section is aluminum and the rear is a standard MRod tube cut and threaded. The hybrid tube changes the front heavy balance to advantage and does take a good bit of weight off the rifle. I think that rifle is 8.5 pounds with scope and bipod.

The stock came on the Gen 2 that I bought about three years ago. It was very dry, almost unfinished. I took a rag and wet it with mineral spirits and then sprayed the rag with black Krylon spay can paint and rubbed the stock with it to darken the grain. Then wiped it off with a clean rag. Let it dry and then shot it with (matte?) spray poly. I might should have just used Birchwood Casey and done it up right.

There was a thread about titanium tubes and that inspired me to purchase the AGR hybrid tube with the possibility far down the road to fabricate a titanium forward section. But now I have dreams of double tubes. Maybe just be happy  with what I have which is pretty good and not many like it.

In keeping with the spirit of the thread, I was able to pest patrol today but nothing dead to show for my efforts. Another day I will be more lucky.

  3crows , I have had Bluebirds visiting the one box that I left out this winter and last week 6 ( 3pr.s ? ) were flitting about & peeking in when a pair of hosp's showed up . I had no "pill dispenser " handy at the time and by the time I got downstairs to the bench where my Avenger was perched , the action was over. I may put out the two other boxes so the BB family can do more "open houses" . Meanwhile today at the farm I popped a couple hosps but could not retrieve either . Too bad for the kitties ! Oh and that is a beautiful gun .

I had the pesterifous critter. Tracking it for a week now. It stopped on the other side of my chain link fence. Rainy night, wind, dark. I put the crosshairs on it between the green eyes at 30 yards, moved the cross hair enough to go through the fence and let the Superlight bark. The 34 grain JSB ripped from the muzzle at near 70 fpe ---- and--chinggggggg!!!!!! Yep, hit the dang fence .  It took off. I flicked the cocking lever. I led waiting to clear the fence and decided to much chance of wounding it and cycled the safety trigger back on.  It disappeared into the darkness  .

If the Gray Squirrel had not stopped running away and looked back..... this would have been a much different story.
It was an off hand shot too. I got very lucky on that one.

  Main thing is you got one Tommy ! LOL nice shooting!   Nice weather despite the breeze, I just did some steel target plinking with my old Dragonfly .22 , hitting 730 fps  at 4 pumps, with 18 gr Air Arms pellets

Hi Scott.

Ain't that something, 50 F in Minnesota during February.

We have only had about 2 weeks of sub-zero temps during the last Polar Vortex cold snap.

So far this winter, starting in November we have had around 15 days of 50 degree weather this year.

At any one time, the most snow that I have gotten this year was the 5 inches that fell on Halloween night.

 Nick and I took to the squirrel woods again yesterday late afternoon. Nick was using my Vectis .25, and I had the .25 B-Jet Space Cowboy out, Nick also had his HPA Chaser at the ready.
 First squirrel Nick got at 40 yards, was a solid heart lung DRT. after some observation, we decided to move a couple hundered yards further into the woods, about the middle of the woods, there we spotted a squirrel, no wait 2, no 3,  all chasing around the trunk of a tree. We noisily crept up on them Nick got to about 30 yards, I took the right flank and crept in to about 20 yards, where I took up position and watched them race around the trunk chasing each other oblivious to us closing in.
 I lost count of how many laps these 3 nutters did, but about the exact same time Nick and I took out first shots at them 2 drop from the tree, one runs past Nick then circles back stops 10 ft up a tree where Nick puts one in its thinker DRT.
 One may think these rodents might be extinct in these woods by now ? We will report back by the end of the month when the season ends to let you know for sure

I'm seeing nutters at 35-40 yards on my walks.  Glad you and Nick were able to close and take some DRT 1 shot 1 kill shooting.  Impressive!
