M-rod stock re-do
«

At one point, I dropped my M-rod off my rest and suffered several nicks and scratches-after having Mike tune it and getting lazer-accuracy-decided to re-finish the stock-to go along with the overall black theme, I chose an ebony stain-wanted to keep the grain showing as opposed to bed-liner.-Overall, I'm happy-not a quick process(credit to stockmakers patience) strip, sand 4 stages, stainand wipe twice, spray poly(3 coats)-drop off hanger while still tacky into pile of sawdust, have a pscho-moment-allow to dry, 0000steel wool, recoat 2 more times and there you have it!

Did it over a 4 day period-most the time involved stripping and sanding-probably 6 hrs. total-staining and sealing- quick-mainly drying time

Very nice! I was actually contemplating redoing mine, maybe a dark cherry stain. But I'm having too much fun shooting it so probably wont happen very soon.
Heres a question, how did you sand off the old stain at the checkering on the sides, but still keep the checkering. I thought I was going to have to get rid of it
