On Amazon's site it states the frustration free package is sold by and ships from Amazon. There is no mention of Crosman other than the brand of the pistol. Frustration free is Amazon's way of stating it was purchased taken out of the package and returned minus the package. That's the reason for the cost difference.

I might suggest this is partnership between Crosman and Amazon, and that the pistols were never packaged for retail sales ( read the plastic clamshell  ).

At today's retail prices, this is a great deal.

It's funny to think that all this began with just a pile of parts that basically built themselves.

I searched all over the web for the best deals on 2240's today and found this -> on amazon. If you select "Frustration Free Packaging" the gun price goes down to $56.63 and ships from the Crosman Store. The price on the Crosman website is over $80. I've been looking at them off and on for a while and couldn't resist at that price.

I got that deal about a month ago.....let's see if I can keep my project cost under the Notos or PP700....lol

You all are bad influencers.  At that price I ordered it.  I don't have prime anymore, so I won't get it right away, but it's on the way.  Never had a 2240 before.  Guess I need to pay attention to CO2 cartridge sales.  Walmart the best bet?

If you don't mind buying in bulk, there's a vendor who can do better than Walmart pricing. If you just want to buy 40 carts ar a time, Walmart is the best option.

They stabilize the barrel and provide mounting grooves for optics.

Oh ok nice. I guess I didn’t notice there wasn’t a rail already. I’ll probably shoot it as is for a little and decide from there. I think I’ll 3d print some stuff for it as well and tinker a little.

My (latest) 2240 was delivered today, 21 May 2023; it was ordered on 14 May 2023.

As mentioned by others earlier, it comes from Crosman in a cardboard box - there is an insert to keep the pistol in place.   Amazon receives the box and ships to the customer in one of their 13" x 15" multi-layered paper envelopes.

I very much prefer this box to the plastic blister pack (clamshell or whatever is the proper term).

It is obviously new, no marks indicating a referb, screws are clean.

Most especially so if adding more barrel retention grub screws - with one being directly above the TP.

There is this - 50 at $24.99.  Price just came back down last week.
