I don't get a chance... she keeps them at bay.
If I go outside, she follows... if I go near the swamp... well, see above pics... She's nuts, that dog.
Betty Lou went on a walk about with the dogs a couple days ago and Rambo spotted one.. He and Betty Lou came to the house huffinng and puffing and reported it to me. I took a 12ga. and dispatched it. Boss didn't see that one.

If that swamp was around my place,
Boss would go a chain and I would be hunting toothy critters 24/7 - 365,
until I didn't find any around, then Boss would be turned loose.

A friend of mine had one and that was a plum NASTY snake,
she would hunt you when feeding her.
Was glad when she kicked the bucket, and I didn't have to feed it,
when he was gone on a trip.

Boss came to this property when she was a puppy, we lived just up the road. When we took over this place, Boss came with it. she grew up doing exactly what you see in these pictures. She has been bitten many times  by rattlers, copper heads and mocs. She swells up for a few days and then gets right back at it... there is no stopping her.
This after a recent battle with a nasty copperhead. She killed it by shaking it and beating it's head against the ground. We've taken her to the vet and they said just take her home.

Well you know how I feel about moccasins Bill.  I kill them here to keep my two idiots from tangling with them.  Not sure my dogs are as tough as Boss.  Not sure ANY dog is as tough as Boss!

All water snakes in the U.S. (poisonous and non poisonous) are the most aggressive of all snakes  here.  My brother and I use to hunt snakes when we were kids, we caught a big
water snake (not poisonous) brought it back to the camp grounds, let it out by accident and another kid said I'll get it, stepping on it with his bare foot it laid open a big gash on his
foot and off to the doctor he went.  Getting bit by any snake can get badly infected due to whatever might be in their mouth.  Dead fish get eaten by them critters a lot.  Bill that's one
tough dog you have there for sure.

Betty Lou and I had a few clod ones while working on the hot house yesterday, I'll have to take some pictures of the beer cans that Boss ripped to shreds while we clean up today.

That can seriously cut open her mouth inside. A dog we had when I was a kid did that too diving in the river down to 7ft picking up beer cans on the bottom one time we went there but thankfully he didn't cut his mouth numerous cans later dropped on the ground and he had a lot of chops to slice up too being a Newfoundland.
