A magnet in a sock. Once the pins all stick to the sock you turn it inside out and pour the pins out.

I've used BBs, washers and nuts... now I'm back to just pellets alone.

That's a good idea, I didn't realize they were magnetic.  I figured being stainless they likely were not.
