Remove PG4 outer guide R9/95

Anyone have a quick and easy method for removing the PG4 outer steel guide? Both of the kits installed in my R9 and HW95 have galled. The outer steel guide on these things is fixed in place with a fearsome magic spell and has defied my efforts to undo. So looking for more skilled magicians than I.

I would suggest that you contact Vortek with that issue; have only installed one kit (PG4 SHO - HW50S) and I did notice that the kit's spring was firmly fixed into the bottom spring guide.
How many rounds through the kit to produce the galling? Where exactly is the galling occurring? I have less than 100 rounds through my kit; just got a chrono today so I'm planning some data collection soon.

I greased my kit components ever so lightly w/PA moly and so far all is well. Kit went in like butter; I also deburred my compression tube and cocking lug carefully. The difference in the sound and feel of the shot cycle is quite noticeable, very happy with the results. Good luck!

The spring is stuck on the inner guide. Not the outer guide. But you need to remove the inner guide to remove the outer guide.

I've had this galling on several steel Vortek Weihrauch kits. I had Tom at Vortek custom make the kit for last R9 I tuned. I'd contact him and ask him to remake the kits with a single traditional rear guide.
I can walk you through getting your kits apart if you PM me for my phone number.

Several K pellets through both guns since the kits were installed.

Galling is right under the cocking shoes, same place both guns.

All the important bits were deburred and greased lightly and appropriately.

Yup, the shot cycles were much quieter and less jarring than stock.

If weren't for the galling issue I'd be a very happy camper too.

Aaaah, "stuck on the inner guide" now makes sense. I guess some compression will be needed to free the spring up and slide it out.

While I was away, I dismantled the R9 to get a better idea of what was going on in there. Turns out that the galling looked a lot worse through the cocking slot than up close and personal. I checked under magnification and there were no visible specs of stainless in the grease( I'm an old Brit Bike owner and lordy do I recognize metal shavings in lubricants  ). I've buffed out 99%, polished the shoe a bit, re-lubed and reassembled. I'll give it a few more rounds and see what develops. If the same thing occurs I'll be giving you a call.

You might want to call me first.  One of those kits almost trashed my Blue R9. The tube is almost irreplaceable.

My HW95L, (year2018), damaged the seal because of dieseling.  Per Ron's, (Bayman), suggestion I installed an ARH kit with a Vortek seal & after a through clean/polish I lubed with Krytox GPL-205.  The rifle cocking cycle is soundless & averages about 17 FPE with FTT 14.66 gr pellets.  The factory piston had a foil sleeve with a thin SS washer which I reinstalled along with the ARH top hat, spring + rear guide.  I spent some time polishing the cocking shoe with emphasis on the side slots.  I have about 7K shots through the rifle after the kit install.
