New .22 cal Xs60x surprising results

Hello, after looking up qb78 threads on here, I kept coming up with various threads about the Xs60c from Mike at FDAR. So out of curiosity I gave him a few calls...he is a hard fellow to get in touch with. Once I realized that "FDAR" is just Mike, one man show, I can understand why!
  I talked to him a bit about the Xs60 and a couple other rifles, for those of you who know Mike , he loves airguns and is a great guy to talk too. I told him what I was looking for and he said he only had one rifle left but he thought it would do what I wanted. I just simple told him I wanted an accurate rifle that was good for squirrels out to 50yrds, he recommended the mid level tune and I asked that it be set around 700fps if it was accurate there. I have always heard that he writes the speeds of a few pellets on the box, but mine didn't have that, maybe that's a springer thing?
  Honestly, I don't care much for Chinese rifles in general, but after feeling a qb79 I liked it. The rifle pretty much looks like the pics, there was a rub mark on the stock but other than that a typical Chinese rifle. It feels lighter than the qb but I haven't weighed them so I'm not sure.

This is the first tuned rifle I have ever bought, so obviously I had to shoot it! Open sights, 10 yards or so it put 10 pellets in an inch or so, but there were two distinct groups, so that could be me. Yesterday I decided to rob a scope to try on it, a Hawke 2-7x32 off a Lego gun. I threw it on, and shot with a few different  pellet types at 10 yards, 10 shot groups. Again, it surprised me, it done pretty decent considering I shake like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

So today, I looked around to see what pellets I had in .22.    Cphp, jsb 15.89, Gamo red cats and an old tin of daisy wad cutters. The jsb I keep because most .22 I have shoot decent with them, the cphp are cheap from wally world so I usually plink with those, the games just looked cool lol and the daisy's a friend gave me a while back.
  I set up and sighted it in (ish) to try them out, hoping it likes the crosmans lol. I shot 3 5 shot groups, the Daisy wad cutters didn't do good enough to waste more c02 on lol. I only did 5 shots because  I'm not sure how many I get yet and didn't want to run out of gas before I finished.
  The Lil rifle really surprised me this time, it did pretty good I feel like with the jsb and cphp. After having it a few days, I can't wait to get to the woods with it, and I sure wish I would have bought one of these a long time ago!
  Has anyone taken the front sight off? I want to take it off because I can see it in the scope, but I would like a threaded adapter, both for a thread protector and for adding an ldc when the need arises.

My XS60C is surprisingly accurate with a variety of pellets.  I've had good luck with 14.3gr CPHP,  17gr Ruger pointed pellets,  18gr Air Arms domes but the current best pellet I have found for mine are the 17.6gr Norma GTFT.  And they are available very cheaply through Norma USA.
Good luck!  IMO these little rifles are real sleepers and outstanding hunting guns!

Congrats….U mentioned an adapter for future LDC….Im sure the folks on here are familar….but what intrigued me was they sell similar looking LDC as Donny….I cant wait to try one out….good luck

I got the Chinese moderator that Mike was selling when I purchased my XS60C.  It is adequate though a TKO would probably be quieter.  Here’s some pics of the Norma’s and the moderator.

I wrapped one of my Donny’s with thick denim trouser cloth in lieu of that OEM foam cloth, and it did become even quieter but dropped a wee bit in POI.

Souupy or froggy make a screw on…as Im sure rocker 1 does..     TKO makes 1/2x20 …I use it on one of my pumpers….good luck

Honestly I forgot about rocker1, he would probably be the best bet if he has time. I want a screw on but I need a slipfit adapter for it in 14.5

Mine does very well with the Apolo 16 gn pellets. You can get those at Field Supply.

U could try souupy (PM)…I think he is more of a hobbyist….makes a quiet LDC….I really like my TKO”s…but like everything they have gone up…Ive decided to not worry about drawing attention to myself….from now on any gun purchased will remain naked….lol… the 1358 got a souupy cause it was an easy fit…Im leaving the sentry and urban alone ….good luck
