Darn auctions... I bid one too many times again... Diana 45

I won two airguns at a semi local auction the other day. I saw a diana of some sort... only a few picts no model listed but after searching around a bit I thought it was a model 45 in .177. It was
I am kinda new to diana and have been looking for a 350 or a 34 for a good deal for a while. I got lucky I hope. the gun is pretty clean. the metal is in great shape and the stock has a couple spots a ding and a smal chip but she is definitely nice. well worth the roughly 105.00 plus gas I have in her.
I got it home and put some silcone in the gun and let her sit upright for overnight to hopefully get some oil in the leather seal... if it has one. After about 16 hours I run two pellets through her. She seems to be functioning fine. I will test further and maybe break in down to see if it was converted to a synthetic seal. I might have to break her down to check lubes etc... or I may run it for a while.
I did not know much about the 45... I thought it looked similar to the Feinwerkbau 124's I have. I then read it was one of the first of the "magnum" springers... after the FWB and HW offerings.
the other airgun was a crosman MK II in .177... not that it is German

Good score!
I would buy a D45 in good / fair condition for 105 bucks plus gas any day. It wasn't only a true magnum in the 70's context, it is also actually accurate, and well-made.

I am impressed on the quality... hopefully the accuracy is up to their reputation.

Great price! I'd absolutely have bought that as well. You'll have to see what kind of pellets it decides it likes best, and whether it needs a tear down and go through or not. I bought a 1980s Webley Vulcan for like 110 bucks, and while in great shape, it was just absolutely caked in some sort of red preservative both inside and out. Really learned to enjoy playing around it though and I'm sure your 45 will be the same!

When you start playing with the Diana 45 you might consider RWS Super Dome pellets. They work well in most of my vintage Diana rifles.
