I just received one in the mail this morning, what a sweet little shooter.  My younger brother came over right after dinner and we had a blast in the basement picking on paper first, then ran a series of chrony tests (I'll post results in the review gate when I get the video edited for youtube).

Had a lil free time today so tried attaching one of those newer $7@wm "compact" 4x15 crosman targetfinders.
it is shorter than this:

Not sure about 20y on starlings.

Someone needs to cobble together a shoulder stock (similiar to the 1399 for the 13xx's).
Think i have it sighted in.  It may not be a fancy red dot, but i think its working out ok (better then open sights) so far.

I didn't have much difficulty using my injured hand to pump it so... It wasn't any worse than pumping open sight. Either used two fingers, one to the left & one right of the rear sights, or pushed down by the scope rings (probably not smart).
Now loading it with the injured hand was... chancy. 

I could see how this would make it harder for a child to pump it though (w/o damaging the scope).

i picked up a p17 about 3 months ago, just because my walmart was discounting them heavily (24.99) and i always liked that pistol...Well, it surely has earned a spot in my rack and my back pack... it is a quiet, consistent (415 fps) with RWS super h points, and with the re dot it will hit a nickel out to 15 yards 10 out of 10 times. As per pest eardication, i believe that at that range is very feasible as the gun is capable of high accuracy. Even at that low power, a head shot to a sparrow will do the job. And i can tell you that those little hollow points do a number on sparrows... I ahve also bodied them and a frontal hit will cause enough trauma to take them down in one shot. Range is important. All these shots have being done at 12 yards or less, using a red dot (Tasco) or a 2x20 pistol scope.

Mine has been going strong for several years since I sorted out the burred intake port and loosening valve stem nut.  It is low-powered, but very accurate for the (cheap) price.  I would recommend it to anyone who needs a gun with those characteristics (and the ability to resolve some minor problems).
