Scuba Tank or hpa small compact pcp compressor poll and why you prefer

Opinions on wheather you like the scuba hpa 3442 psi tank or a small hpa compressor
like the GX-CS2 series and why.Would like to hear how peoples small air cooled compressors
are holding up and what kind of filters you use on them.How long do they last if lightly
used.Not interested in a scba tank as no place here can fill them and they are way to
expensive for the little amount of shooting i will do.I have two dive shops one can fill
to 3000 psi and is 3 km away the other is 150 kms away and can fill to 3500 psi.Ty

Your post is confusing. You’re inquiring about a tank and a compressor, then say you’re not interested in a tank. Next you say you can get tanks filled, but only to 3000-3500 psi.

I don’t know what pcp you own, but a tank filled to 3000-3500 will, maybe, top off a 200 bar gun one time, depending on the starting pressure in the gun.

I’m going to answer just the title instead of the confusing question. My Method of fill depends on the situation. Sometimes the situation calls for several options,  For example, if I were in the field, my primary fill source is an air tank, however, I always pack a small compressor as a back up and my hand pump is always in the truck. Another example is if I am home, I don’t deplete the air in my air tanks at home I primarily use a small, direct fill air compressor or a hand pump, depending on the fill pressure and volume of the gun. So the answer is: “just depends”

I am fortunately enough to have room at our home to shoot out to 100 yds. We live in the woods so nobody bothers us about our shooting, day or night.
I started my PCP adventures with a couple SCUBA tanks and it wasn't long before trips to the fill station and required inspections became annoying.
Air independence is a beautiful thing but it's also not without potential problems. This is high pressure air with potential hazards. Proper care and usage is a must.
I suggest, as I assume budget is a consideration, a true Yong Heng brand compressor purchased through Walmart with an extended 3 or 4 year warranty. You can literally purchase one for the same amount, or less, than your next potential PCP gun purchase.
OTOH... if your shooting arrangement requires travel you would need to explore other options such as a 12/110v travel compressor or a higher end compressor suitable for filling tanks and an SCBA 4500psi CF tank. Of course, that option comes at a greater cost.

I have a Yong Heng and an expired 45 minute SCBA tank with a good fill set.  Whole setup cost about what a big new tank costs, I think.  If I travel to the range I take the tank.  At home I fill the tank from the compressor and fill the guns from that.  Tank filling is very quick and also very quiet.  I've never used one of the small compressors that can run on 12V but I'm sure they are not as fast nor as quiet.  Filling the tank is noisy, however, but I only do it about once a month.  When I first got the Yong Heng I did not have the bottle so I filled my Avenger and Prod directly from the compressor.  I actually hand pumped the Prod at first thinking it would fill too quickly with the compressor for me to control.  That is not true but filling that little gun takes less than a minute. 

I might get one of the little compressors that is more portable some day.  If I do, I will probably set it up so it can run on 120V, 12V, or one of my 18V Milwaukee tool batteries.  The versatility of power source seems like their best feature.

I use both, or should I say I have many means of filling my PCP's, I have SCBA Carbon fiber 4500 psi Tanks, about 6 right now that I fill with a Nardi gas powered SCUBA compressor, I use these tanks when I'm away from the House, at Home I use my small PCP compressors because they are convenient and easy to use, sometimes I will take the small PCP compressor with me if I'm shooting with friends so they have a way of filling their guns too, the tanks are good out in the field because they are quiet, only when you release the pressure valve is the only real noise, it can be muffled with a rag if needed, I really don't have a preference of either.

Both. Easy. I don't always have a power source near me when shooting.

Thanks guys i guess being a retired machinest i could repair pretty much anything if
need be and if i dont have the part i just make it lol.Sounds like for me a handpump
for in the truck for top ups and standby and a mini compressor for home fills from
2150Psi to 2950psi for my cayden with 280 cc cylander would be best option.They
need a service after 50 hours and for me that could take five years lol.I will also get
one of the 6" gold filters and put decicant in it as well as a cotton filter and change when
i need to the air is very dry here for about 6 months of the year and i only fill mostly
in the house. In summert ac keeps air pretty dry as well..Thanks again
