Ive had the Beeman Marksman 2070 .177 < 12 FPE Spring Piston for a few months now and around 400 pellets through it. It took awhile to get used to the trigger. Any time i tried getting Any movement from the trigger the piston would drop sending the shot. After 50+ shots i learned to add some amount of pull, then when im right on in an instant I bring the trigger home dropping the piston.
It took awhile to find pellets that are good in this AG, HNFTT 8.6gr in 4.52mm do good, 4.50mm not as good, 10.5gr CPUM, RWS Superdomes 8.3gr, Barra Hollow Tip and Rifle Destroyer Field 8.2gr all do good to 27 yards. CPD 7.4gr and CPHP 7.9gr are good to 20yards, by 27yards both start hitting where they want, 7.4gr Destroyers do better than 7.9gr CPHP in nearly all barrels.
Not long ago i recieved a Beeman 1022 dual caliber. Somewhere around 5.5 lbs and OAL is 42.75", shorter than the Marksman 2070 at 43, 7/8" and 5.7lbs. The Black Cub 1022 Feels a tadworthy shorter and lighter than the Marksman 2070. The 1022 and 2070 have the Same powerplant, same saftey, same trigger, slightly different stock, and 1022 being able to switch between .177 and .22. Being new barrel lockup feels a little mushy and needs more force to close but nothing overly over. I can see the 1022 i have has droop, the barrel pointing lower than the reciever. This can be fixed by shimming and shimming the rings for the scope.
Upon arrival the box was damaged <ama><zon>, the .177 barrel was good except the front sight was damaged but still workable. The .22 barrel is missing, the 4x32mm Scope and hex key to change barrels were also missing. Today I applied for a return. I have a month to send this one back for a replacement. A replacement is being sent. If i can get this one to shoot good I may just keep it and get charged again, priced right under 10,000 pennies including shipping.
I contacted Beeman through thier website, gave them the Serial # along with details of damage and missing parts. In the message i left my email and phone number, along with a request for a replacement .22 barrel and a front sight for the .177 barrel. I am Hoping Beeman will respond and help.
So far around 50 shots in.. tried CPUM 10.5 gr, CPPirhana 10.5 gr, CPHP 7.9gr. The .177 barrel i have will load a Pirhana without being overly forced, CPUM 10.5gr fit just right. Pirhana and CPUM 10.5 gr do good at 20yards, only tried a few shots at 27yards, both pellets doing good so far. Later ill Check how FTT 8.6gr and RSD 8.3gr fit and shoot. With more shots in, the shot cycle will smoothout and accuracy should improve. This .177 barrel is doing good with the heavy pellets. Along with the Marksman, and the missing .22 barrel, this could be a good 25-35 yard SmallGameTaker < small-medium feathers/ fur, larger feathers would need hea dshots.
I was really looking forward to using the .22 barrel, pushing 14.3gr at 560-580+ fps?. Ill be adding Silicone to the Marksman Stock in the forearm in the empty slots, to eat a little Vibration and add a few ounces forward. This 1022 or its replacement,, or both, will also get Silicone in the stock aswell.
I nearly ordered a 1074 Ko diak RS2 but cancelled that order... Im still very much into Spring Piston AGs. I want to try a couple wood spring piston models but not too sure rightnow. As i wait to choose a .22 PCP,, ive acquired a few Breakbarrels, both Spring and Gasram, that need more break in at the moment.

Marksman 2070
Has good knob adjust open Polymer sights with glow inserts and a metal hood. Compared to being new, this AG has picked up FPS to where my Open sights are adjusted as low as they can be, good though, my sights hit righton or a Hairball high at 27yards< depending on pellet. Mounting a scope is good. Have a plain 4x32mm that rides on/ off. Will upgrade to a Mildot AO at later time.
BlackCub 1022
Open sights are slide adjust with a screw to clamp the elevation and a screw to hold the windage. Windage and elevation are non marked. After enough shots are through 150+, i can add my own elevation and windage marks. I find the Marksman to have better sights, easy to line up, easy to adjust.
Safety is auto engage, a button near the rear of the tube is pressed in to take off Saftey. Once taken off safety, it cannot be re-engaged by returning the safety button, rather has to be recocked to re engage the safety.
I may just get the Kodiak RS2. Was thinking of wood stocked Edge .22 or a Optimus .22 or, but, i already have 2 of Edge. I Have a Swiss Arms TG1 .177, would be able to switch stocks and parts with the Optimus. I think the 1074 RS 2 would be good having a better trigger than the Edge or Optimus. i think the 1074 can use Crosman Springs and seals if i needed to.. ? Ok enough fornow.

The Rs 2 series guns are well made. The trigger on my rifle is better than the Spanish model they copied. The extra barrel is a sales gimmick. You will probably try the differnt barrels once then never change them again. Did that with a Beeman German air rifle. Ended up tying up some money I could have used for something else. Dave

DRose,
I was able to fit 1 layer of threadtape right where the barrel meets the breech block, no room for more than 1 round. The 1022 i recieved was intended to be a .22, already having the Marksman 2070 in .177. The replacement being sent will be left as a .22. Having 2 of each barrel would be fun, knowing each barrel will like different pellets than the other. , im really thinking to keep this current 1022. Im just hoping Beeman will reply and help with the damaged and missing parts. I had contacted them on friday, it is now monday.
I have ordered the Kodiak 1074 dual Caliber. Fornow I have enough spring piston breakbarrel .177s. The 1074 will most likely stay as a .22 until a later time if i decide to add a woodstocked .22 breakbarrel, i may change the Kodiak to .177. As it is it takes 1 minute to change barrels, resight in of scope would be needed after switching barrels. It would be good and fun to find the pellets that work good in the 1074 .177. I might put a Dovetail to Picatinny rail to make switching scopes easier. If not then a medium height one piece mount will do good in keeping the scope mounted low.

Looking at the Google pics of Chevak - there does not seem to be any large buildings for indoor shooting.
( are you the Mayor and use the public buildings ? )
My knowledge of Alaska is nil.
Where do you find the space to shoot all the airguns you have ?
Outside ? Alaska maybe is warmer the the lower 48 with all the climate change.
Hope you found a use for the moderator I sent you.
Wishing you the best - Robert

Robert 5mm,
Thankyou Sir..Im not the mayor, nor do i Shoot indoors. I shoot outside, last shots were in 20'F, ive shot in as low as -5'F, at this temperature, 13xxs and 880s start to lose power from the cold. I am on the west end of town so i have alot of space to shoot, not alot of traffic, mainly AGs with an LDC on, though at times i do take a breakbarrel outside. When it comes to using my louder and higher powered AGs i usually go under the hill or west to the end of the hill to do some shooting and break in.
The Avenger / Origin LDC i recieved from you, this one clipped in the last 4 baffles, throwing my shots low and right. I cut the 4 front baffles off, sized the other end to fit a 1322 barrel and used Silicone Gasket maker to hold it in place. Added a non threaded AR post sight that i had shortened to match the rearsight on a 2240,. works good..

Update from Beeman,
Called them and told of the missing and damaged parts. First response from them was to refund or get a replacement from the vendor. Told them i have a replacement being sent and that id like to see if i can get the missing .22 barrel direct from Beeman. At first the kind lady said id have to send the entire action to make sure the .22 barrel fits, otherwise they can send a barrel that may or maynot fit and that id be charged shipping for the replacement barrel. I said i would Not mind paying shipping if i am to recieve a replacement .22 barrel.
So with my name and number taken, I was told a Technician would call me tomorrow to give me the shipping price on a replacement barrel.. Good.

Dear Diary,
Im joking,, ok,, XD
Put 30 more shots in today. With Pirhana10.5 a few shots, then to CPHP7.9gr. Switching between these pellets, CPHP 7.9 provide a smoother shot cycle, this tells me the Pirhana 10.5 gr are too tight. They fly good though. Not many barrels like the CPP10.5, nearly all breakbarrels refuse to load them.. they do good in a couple 1377s, a DP880 and DP901 and a Win 1977. For whatever Pirhana reasons they always hit high and left compared to other pellets. CPHP doing good at 27 yards in this B1022. Good. The CPHP 7.9 seem to only do good at Breakbarrel velocities and dont do as well in lower power MultiPump AGs. Marksman2070 and DP880 DP901will shoot them to 20 but need other pellets to stay on at 27 yards. Barrel lockup has smoothed out.
I put Blue locktight on the stock screws a couple days ago, no stock screw movement. Stock bolts have a flat bottom and no teethed washers < Good.

Got a call from Peter at Beeman. Skip,.,., I can send a money order for 20 to Beeman to recieve my .22 barrel, good.
Beeman says they dont sell direct to customers so youd have to go through Vendors, though of you have a problem they will help, as they helped me in my case.
1022 doing soo good at 27yards with CPHP 7.9gr, i dont want to send this back, so it will be staying with me.
Replacement Beeman 1022 was sent along with a new Beeman Kodiak 1074.

Two days ago i recieved my new Beeman 1074 Kodiak X2 DC AW. The package arrived fine with no damages, this had a nice 1 piece Foam that held the barrel in place along with the extra barrel, Scope, extra Breech seal and the allen wrench to change barrels. Barrels are straight, breechblock is mounted straight without droop. The leade on the breech is abit rough on both barrels. I cleaned them both up using the same Stone Bit that I use to recrown .177 and .22. Feels a little long around 47.75" and not heavy but not light either., LOP is 14.75". Looks Pretty.
Starting with one layer of threadtape where the breechblock and barrel meet. Then I mounted a Dovetail Picatinny rail with the extension pointed towards me. I removed some material on the clamp part to allow nearly level mounting. Mount the included 4x32mm scope with different medium/low rings, shimmed the rings with the rear having 3 and front with 1. Scope sits right around 1.75" above pellet. I tried a medium 1 piece mount, that would put scope at 1.5" above pellet, but fornow chose the DovePicRail.
Outside for the first 5 shots. CPHP 14.3gr, fit is abit too loose to like. Hitting way to the left and high, that means id have to adjust right < Not Good> and remove the shims to bring poi down. As i break the barrel i see some of the thread tape at the bottom has blown out. This tells me there is some amount of blowbye where the air makes it into the hole for barrel Mounting, this equals a small amount of air and power loss. Shot cycle is strong and smooth., loud, no twang, not alot vibration, though i dont Art illery ho ld,.
So first, i remove the dove-picrail, remove more material to line up better, turn around mount and reposition the Scope for eye relief. Removed shims, down to 1 layer each.
Next with thread tape, 3 layers and 3 sets on the narrow part of the barrel, 3 layers 2 sets right behind the barrel mount divot. Insert slowly while turning. Good. Now that ive got this barrel setup, i want to add more threadtape layers to the 1022 barrel. Remove breech seal oring and add threadtape in the oring groove to raise the breech seal. Much better, breech seal looks proud now. .
Back outside 15F', this time with CrosmanPremierPirhanha 14.3gr. When CrosmanPremierHollowPoint 14.3gr fits too loose and or doesnt give good accuracy with the barrel, i next try the CPP 14.3gr. These pellets have a slightly larger diameter head over the CPHP and provide better fit and good accuracy when CPHP wont cut it. CPHP are good, they do good in alot of my barrels. Pellet fit is just right with CPP 14.3gr, HN FTT 14.6gr 5.53mm are alittle too tight. I have alot of other pellets to try, later after more break in. Barrel breaking and lockup is smooth, nice ball type lockup.
1st of 3 shots at 10 yards, littlebit high and lilbit to the left. Adjust turrets, till 3 are touching right on aim. Good. Move on to 20 yards and readjust scope. Trigger feels heavy long and mushy, using a small screwdriver i adjust the trigger screw < behind trigger. First i adjust in till i felt resistance. This made trigger travel shorter but heavy without a wall to stop on. Adjust by 1/4 turn out till i found a setting., travel is lighter yet longer with a very small soft wall. I tried a 1/8 in and an 1/8 out from the setting, each makes for the soft wall to disappear. Too far in, trigger is heavier and shorter without a defined stop, too far out travel is lighter and longer, trigger travel no wall piston drop. I need to get used to this trigger < shiny metal trigger, the soft wall is hard to feel but its there. Ill continue to adjust up and down till i find what i like. < on triggers, a week ago i adjusted my SATG1 to have a very nice trigger with short light travel and a good wall to stop on to break.. before adjust it was heavy without a wall.
Around 30 shots in i got a good 1/2" 5 shot at 20yards., Triggerhand pulling AG firmly intoshoulder, forehand no pulling..Ill be doing more shooting at 20 yards, after enough shots through<150 -200> ill change the scope and sight in for a rehit around 27-33yards, ill see after enough shots through. I have 2 new Svitvu 3-9x32mm HalfMilDot that i manually adjusted the objective to have parallax around 35 yards < before adjusting the objective the scope reticule would move all over the place at 30-35 yards. Tried adjusting a CVL4x32MD w 3.9" ER, objective would not move to be adjusted.. ohwell, one of my Single shot PBs needs a new $cop€ anyway..
Optimus.22 Sounds very fun knowing i can make the trigger to what i like, but im take a break forawhile from the long boxes from U s P s,,, small boxes however will continue to flow..
AllisGood

Here is a thing that seems to have been forgotten, it was very popular when break barrels were main stream. Snug that pellet up with the riffling and at the right depth every time, makes them slightly hard to load pellets work like a charm in many cases, and saves the breach seal.

Back_Roads,
For a few months i did seat pellets in a low power .177, using a BIC pen with the inkball and inkwell removed. It would seat the .177 to the same depth each time. After awhile i quit using a seater, adding an extra step to seat the pellet felt... Anyway that AG was only good to 15yards, untill i cut the barrel to 11" and recrowned the barrel now its a 20 yards AG. I Still would Not recomend a UxEmbark to anyone XD there are Alot of better options in the 120buck range. I never did try seating .22 pellets in breakbarrels. Good reminder though, i did forget about seating pellets.
Maybe ill try some shots with seated pellets on the 1022 in .177, as it is i get good accuracy with the 1022.

The Replacement Beeman1022 arrived. All parts were present. Rough leade on breech, clean up with Stone bit. All barrels arrived Very dirty, mop with silicone oil until clear followed by bore snake. Breechblock mounted straight, no barrel droop. Open and close is smoother than the 1st 1022. Crowns look good on all barrels. Mounted the .22 barrel with some rounds of teflon thread tape. Removed teethed washers and blue locktight stock screws.
The 1022#2 trigger has travel, unlike the 1st 1022 and the 2070 Marksman which have Zero Trigger travel,. Makes me wonder if there is an adjustment screw for the RS1 trigger. Its not bad, I get 1 small movement out of the trigger, 1 out of 40 shots was a "dropper"< pulling trigger to add travel, piston drop before im ready., happens once in a great while on some 1stage triggers that have some travel, never happens with a 2stage trigger setup with a wall to break< adjust OUT on most.
Tried some CPHP 14.3gr, some feel a little loose in the barrel but good grouping, RwsMK 14.gr loose head with tight skirt does good. The First 10-15 shots seems to hit where they wanted with alot of smoke and smell, calmed down abit and started getting good groups.
At 20 yards and open sight im getting .75 - 1" with CPPirhana 14.3gr, not best but good enough. With more shots in im sure the grouping will tighen up abit as things smoothout and i find The Pellets that fly good.
Put 20 more shots through the Kodiak1074. The last 2 shots hit 1" to the left at 20 yards.. that bothered me but shooting light was fading so i ended yesterday with 2 shots off 1" to the left. Checked the Dove-Picrail screws - tight, checked Rings- tight, checked stock screws - tight. Im thinking it might be the scope, i did have to adjust a few inches right but not alot. Check again later today, if its still hitting off to the left I might change to a 1 piece scopemount, rather change mounts than adjust anymore to the right. If not i may remove more material on the Dove-Picrail base to avoid adjusting scope anymore to the right. All is good.

Back to my AG Duty,
Having ended the last 20 shot session with the 1074 with 2 shots 1" to the left, initial inspection showed nothing wrong. Further inspection revealed that the base had slid rearward, nearly shearing off the scope stop Screw.
When it was new, I had removed the recoil plate and reinstalled the recoil screw to gain 1/4" off eye relief. There is a danger zone on scopes, an area where a Scope Ring should not be torqued on. These areas are right where the scope tube transfers into the Objective, the Turrets and the eyebox, keep your rings atleast 1/8"+ away from these areas. 15 years ago with a nice 4x32mm with long 6" eyerelief and Mildot reticule, A couple hundred shots in, one of the lens inside the tube became free, one of the rings were tightened in the "Dangerzone".
Removing the plate was a mistake, this AG is strong. Previously i had never experienced scope base creep, i have a bunch of Breakbarrels, never happened till now. I have two other TPO 14 slot base and they do good after making them sit level. One on a UxBlackhawk another on HEdge.22. TPO 14 Slot Base with Medium/Low rings and 4x32mm, removed. Reinstall recoil plate and new Recoil Screw, added a Hammers3-9x32mm AO Mildot with 1pc base. Set on 4.5x this Hammers Scope has short 3.25"+ eye relief but does goood. I have a Valiant 6x40mm AOMDIR on a Tall Atom 1 Pc base that id like to try. The Valiant 4x32mm and 6x40mm Havegood 4" eyerelief and nice Mildot Illuminated reticule.
1022 #1 .177 has 120 shots in, done smoking , already, cool. Open sights and Lonsel DovePicatinny Base.
1022 #2 .22 has Lonsel DovePicatinny Base and Beeman4x32mm Scope that was included with the 1074, 1022 included scope is NotGood, can see inside the tube too much and very blurry image, smoke has cut down with around 80 shots in.
Too windy today to shoot to get sight in done on 1074. Still smoking 60 shots in. Having adjusted trigger in and out,, got back to where it has small stop at end of travel. Small and soft but its there.

B1074 Having around 150 shots through and having tried 4 different scope and mount setups, each setup being lighter than before. The first two had a 1 pc dove to pic base. Both begin sliding and changing poi by 20 shots. I even tried a light weight dovepicrail with a red dot sight out of despair.. did good till that also began sliding. I thought i had it figured out, with a 4x32mm scope and 2 peice mounts, until the recoil plate sheared off..
So i have come to the conclusion that i need a Bullseye ZR mount for this B1074.. every scope setup ive tried is not working. Good accuracy for around 20 shots then starts moving from the mounts sliding.. even tried shooting till i thought the rings would stop moving. Showing no signs of stopping so i removed the scope. Had i continued It would continue rearward until the rear base screw break,, most rearward screw is bent from riding into the curve of the end of dovetail. CPPirhana 14.5gr, Vortex Strike 17.75gr have worked very good to 30 yards in the short time the scopes would stay put. Starting to think id be having a Blast with a BeemanTeton.22 < Wood stock And open sights, instead of trying to get scopes to stay put. XP
I have to bring the trigger home slow to feel the soft wall. . Or i could give 1short soft travel touch, backoff trigger, 2nd touch makes the soft wall easier to feel.

B1074, i thought i would solve the scope movement with a ZRMount.
Not wanting to order above mentioned mount, To stop the scope from moving around on the B1074, I modified a scope ring into a scope stop. The stopring, cut the ring arms off and tightened the slotted Screw tight as it can be torqued right where the Stop screw and plate once was. I then took the lightest medium height Rings i have< single screw type, not the double screw UTG type. Mounted the lightest Adjustable Objective I have a Win4x32mmAO. 30 shots in .22 and 30 shots in .177, no scope movement. This one will stay as a .177 for awhile.
1022 #2 in .22 has a Dove-Picrail, Medium rings and B4x32mm. JsbRS 13.7gr, 27yard sight in. Good.

B1022 .22
Around 200 shots in.
Still some smoke after the shot.
CPHP and CPUM fit a little to light, CPPirhana with its slightly larger head diameter with a driving band have a better fit, good consistent fit.
CPPirhana < CPP 14.3gr
No warmup shots,

Light, compact compared to other break barrels, enough power for medium fur feathers to 20-30 yards. Cans can be taken to 35- 40 yards with some hold over. Smooth shot cycle, not loud, long cocking stroke that is not heavy 20-25 lbs. Only gripe would be closing the barrel, not as smooth as others in closing, good strong lockup though.

1074
This AG has been trouble since the beginning. First the very rough breech leade and the overly recoil was moving the scope until i got that figured out. Next was lower power than expected along with large FPS spread, think 50+ FPS. In a shot string of 10 there would be 1 or 2 the would be 50+ FPS Slower than avg. Tried both .22 and .177 barrels, same story. I emailed Peter at Beeman on my suspecting a damaged piston seal on this 1074. Awaiting reply.

1022 # 122-199 .177
To stop blowby from happening i added 3 layers of threadtape on the narrow stem that inserts into the breechblock, followed by Some Blue Silcone Gasket maker. There is zero chance of any air escaping through the barrel inlet.
I removed the trigger return spring and clipped 1 coil and reinstall shortend spring. No effect on heavy trigger XD.
I removed the front and rear sights, covered the holes with tape and mounted a G4x32mm Plain Scope on Low Medium rings. Does very good. Got it to group very good at 15yards. Todays 23 MPH from 1 oclock heading is too much to shoot past 15 yards. Resight for 25-27yards on less wind day.

Beeman Marksman 2070 .177
For awhile i have been wanting to shorten the BM2070, so I have ordered a slipon universal hooded front sight to replace the front sight in order to shorten the barrel and OAL. Sitting at 43, 5/8" < 1114mm with a 18, 15/16" barrel < 480mm.
I will be shortening the barrel to have an OAL to be shorter than 40".
Nice and lightweight. It has a good trigger immediate stop that is lighter in pull weight than the B1022s. Caulking the barrel is light around 20 lbs. Seems to have a shorter caulking cycle than the Beeman1022.
Very nice hooded front sight, though i feel this would be abit better being shorter knowing the power is abit lower than i had expected.
Rear sight has been bottomed out since ive had this. Does very good to 20-27 yards with CPHP 8.0gr, HNFTT 8.7gr and CPUM 10.5gr. To hit 15 yards i have to place the front sight lower halfway through the rear notch. For sometime I have been using CPHP 8.0gr and CPUM 10.5gr with this 2070. Switching between the two pellets requires a few windage clicks to get back to sight in. CPD 7.4gr have a fit that is abit loose, consistent though in fit and FPS Spread, havent tried these much in this Spring Piston Airgun.
This spring i took medium feathers at 20 yards right on aim with HN FTT8.7gr 4.52mm.

You like the 2070 and 1022. Check out the Beeman 1048 with wood stock and silver satin finish on the metal and a ported shroud. Love mine.
