Notos - my personal experience

Ummm, NOPE! That little Chihuahua sits at the front window watching for HOSPs and Starlings and screams out to me, "Schoot it! Schoot it! Daveeed!"

Her question for me this morning after I got home from work was, "Didju reealy neeed anodder BB gun?"

 Mine was here when I  got home yesterday. Was late and didn't have much time with it.
Only assembled it and added some air.
1st impression... negatives: Trigger will need some work. Only PCP I can compare to is
the Origin which really surprised me with its trigger. The fill probe is NOT interchangeable
with the Origin. Would think both being Umarex they'd be compatible.
 Positives: Really like the magnetic single shot tray. The gun is really short and light.
The origin will be like carrying a fence post after the Notos.
 Are all the youtubers I been watching with this midgets? It's even shorter than I expected.
Really going to like that. Hand Pumping it was a breeze.
 Hopefully will get some pellets down the bore this weekend

It has a really simplestic trigger mechinism, but not sure why they used an adjustment grub screw with a tip like an ice pic!  If you take the trigger shoe out and file that tip off, then smooth it with some finegrit sandpaper it will help a lot.  I went so far as to pilish the contact points on the lever as well and now it's quite smooth.  I also adjusted it so it has a lot less first stage travel and it's turned into a pretty decent trigger.

trigger is quick and easy to fix.

the 2 stage trigger on the notos can be made very acceptable.

take the screw in the trigger all the way out,
and use sandpaper or a file to lightly round the sharp point on the screw.

screw it back into the trigger until the first stage wont reset on its own (with the gun cocked)

then back it out about a quarter turn,
that will make it a nice light first stage,
with a clean break on the second stage.

if you want to go even deeper,
a lighter weight spring in the trigger helps it also.

also,there are a couple other screws in the trigger mechanism that can be adjusted for first stage length and sear engagement.

and only takes a few min to replace.

i put a 2-7 hawke vantage on mine,
with a small reflex dot on a 45 degree mount,
makes it nice and light.

but thinking about a veyron 3-12 as i like the reticle and illumination.

i cant leave anything alone hahahaha

there is no doubt, its just about perfect for the notos.

but im just so used to FFP i cant get used to it,
probably be in the classifieds soon lol

the ffp veyron 3-12 compact is just a little heavier,
has illum for inside dark barns,
i dig the reticle,
and better eye box than the discovery 3-12 compact.

I have the SFP non illuminated Vector Veyron on several guns. They make some decent glass for the money for sure.

it took me 2 minutes, pulled the cover pulled the trigger, ground the tip of the screw, filed and sanded, cleaned greased, reinstalled, adjusted, done feels way better than it was.

Outstanding! Thanks for the pix, makes a LOT more sense to me now.

I just finished reading 18 pages of Notos mods over at the black forum and see that the moderator is held on to the barrel with 2 hidden C clips so you have to cut off the moderator to remove it.

The pin is also a red herring, it does not help with the moderator removal.

Got a little trigger time this morning. Found 3 accuracy contenders. Mind these are single 5 shot groups except the CPHPs which I think the
1st group was bad mostly me getting used to the trigger.
1) JSB Exact 14.35 gr.
2) AA 16 gr. Roundnose
3) CPHPs.... Kinda excited here 1st group sucked while getting used to the feel of the gun, 2nd group was 4 in one hole with 5th near touching
the other four
 All groups at 22 yards.

Using a cheap UTG 3x9. Another scope or at least slightly taller rings will be a help

Got my used Notos yesterday afternoon from Fred White so when I got home I pulled the side plate and flattened the point on the trigger grub screw, I probably do a little more work on it later.  Threw a 4-16 scope on I had laying around and got it sighted in , in my basement using Benjamin 14.3 dome hp seems to like them for my short range starling shooting. So far I'm really happy with it.

Only PCP I've had hands on so far is the Origin and I've posted my observations on it.
What I was looking for was something substantially more compact, and less powerful,
nice to shoot cheap pellets accurately. Must be head shot accurate on squirrel to 30 yards.                                                                                                No shifting POI. It seems to be doing all that.
 Next will be some trigger work. Very optimistic about this one.
Ask me in a year or two how much I'm still liking it. That'll be the real test

Sweet!! It’s like my Prod but more consistent and more power
