Crosman 362 woodie stock

Got mine, serial number 260. Just ordered it about a week ago... maybe they’ve got a lot leftover still? Used the 20% off so did ok, seems real nice checking it on my lunch break but will have to try it out later. I was surprised they managed to keep the pistol grip so thin on the wood stock like the original.

Edit- the website let’s me add 200 362s to my cart but I think that’s the order limit not the inventory

I'm not oredering one (don't shoot .22 anymore), but am enjoying following. The turkish walnut stock on my akela is awesome and i like seeing these pics of the 362 wood stock.

Interesting that Crosman milled the side of the steel breech flat to better accept a Williams sight. Maybe they should do this to all of them? I really like how this gun feels pumping it.

I converted both of my c362 guns to .177. Just takes a barrel and a bolt.

I have a .177 remington (it's a painted crosman legacy). Would that barrel work?

Reluctant to add to the already high price tag of the 362 woodie by making it .177.

Short day at work today and was curious if my barrel spacer might help accuracy at max power, 8 pumps. Also just received a supply of 15.89 JSBs and a 5.52 sizer and wanted to try them too.

I lost 10fps after sizing the CP pellets, so 660fps with 8 pumps. Shot the 2 targets with CP pellets alternating 1 straight from the tin followed by a pellet run through the die. 5 each. The unsized target is a bit better but sizing the pellets surprised me! Until I open the tin of JSBs. The JSB 15.89s are moving 640fps and the obvious choice going forward.

Kirby’s post on the 31rst confirms the 15.89 JSBs also.

Thanks all for the photos and information. That is interesting that they milled the side of the breech flat thanks for sharing.

Got mine earlier in the week, cleaned the barrel (Hoppe's, alcohol, dry, oil, dry), oiled pump, pump arm pivots, rear piston insert, bolt o-ring --- pellgun oil where recommend. Find bolt gets lacerated from capture of steel breach, oiled with teflon super lube.

Pump arm is slightly off (happen in shipping? ), stock Phillips screws slightly loose. Couldn't salvage box sleeve, too much glue. It was well packed.

Stock looks like it had promise but maybe the B team was up to bat. Unfinished grain, what looks like polish spots thad didn't get rubbed out, and I'm just not expert enough to guess on what it would look like in the right hands with some extra attention. Pics will follow (they're on my phone, this is a tablet). Could be this being #533, QC is falling off.

Today just CPUM five rounds to see what it can do.

Couple observations, but first, I got it with a discount code, thank you @BerkshireHunter, 20% off. Second, I don't know why, but I thought the Williams sight would also be windage adjustable (knob or screw). Third is although I REALLY wanted to love this rifle, I started with second thoughts and buyer's remorse before it even arrived.

So, test fired at 11 yards, next post pics of stock and target. Heartbeat was likely responsible for top 2 rounds, just the way I was sitting. Caldwell bag. Oh, forgot ... nice crisp trigger pull, no creep, measured from high 3's to 4# even.

I'm hoping to get comments on the stock!

Range already set up, wth, try Beeman 0035 since wind is dying down. Low, lower, pellet 3 still in breach. Seal is history.

OK, D34. Ten shots about 1.5" (irons).

This is the part where I expect someone to say hey, wake up, you're having a nightmare!

It’s not holding air? In IT they say “did you try restarting or clearing the cache?” With Crosmans I say “did you put some Pellgun or ND 30W oil on the pump cup?” These things love a bit of oil to make a seal in the compression tube.

It definitely shouldn’t have a problem this early. The Williams sight has two small screws to loosen on top then you can shift windage. (Yes, a little annoying)

Did before doing the chrono shots, and again when it quit building pressure.

Packed it up for return, but thought to give it another chance. By two pumps I could tell it was back to building pressure.

Total before it went south on me was only 13 cycles, various # of pumps. Most oil left the pump and valve on the way to the chamber from the looks of the "wet" bolt area.

I've heard they were oil hogs, but 13 shots is a pita. Might put it up 4 sale...

Three last shots, 25 yards, no wind. Two close together are 1& 2. I don't think #3 was me, but to be fair I suppose it's possible the pellet skirt was damaged(?).

I would be curious to see what a 10 shot group at 25 yards looks like. If this is the same barrel they used on the original 362, there were good ones and there were bad ones. Mine was a very bad one.

If you think there are pressure building issues, a 10 shot group might help to see if it was just because it needed to be worked in a little, or something from a defect. Did you call Crosman and talk to them about it? This might be something they are aware of and have heard before.
