Crosman 362 woodie stock

Sorry - this is my first 362 (s/n 213 of 2023) and I was distracted checking it out and thinking about what to do first to void the warranty!

Plus a pulled a couple dry patches through the barrel before checking function and getting some initial fps numbers.

14.3 CPHPs 8 pumps 670-675fps.
14gr Daisy Max Speed wadcutter 6 pumps 620fps.

Well I have 3 362s to void the warranty with... in fact two are already modded with hogged out ported valves and steel breeches... one has a "tuned" 24" .22 barrel and the other sports a "tuned" 26" .177 barrel....

will be leaving the limited edition as is...will be sending lead with it here and there... but for the most part will be a keepsake for my youngest...

did it come as two boxes..? what is in the red white and gold box..? Grain on stock does seem to indicate that it is made from a single blank... that is a big plus to me... it takes more skill to do and likely more $ for blank and labor... 

have fun... am looking forward to getting my daughters 362 L.E. ... looks dang good... especially set with the wood floor backdrop...

Double boxed. the red white is a sleeve that slips over the 100 years 362 rifle box.

In another thread I stated that I was hoping for what I call select grade walnut for the stock... well at least on the side you show on yours it is the high end of that... not one single small flaw or pin knot that I can see... not one bit of sap wood... it also looks to have excellent grain flow... if mine is the equal or even near equal of yours I will be happy... I prefer it over the fancy/exhibition grades because it tends to be slightly stronger and more stable...plus I just prefer the way it looks... 

MHO is that stock itself would be 180$-250$ or more now days...

One thing I didn’t expect or didn’t recall reading about was the trigger. It was SURPRISINGLY good! A bit heavy and a little 2nd stage creep but not terrible. Nothing in the manual about it being adjustable.

Tomorrow is supposed to a clear day. So I can get better pics after work.

Curious if the butt stock’s emblem is plastic or metal

I can’t believe crosman didn’t install a filler piece in the pivot end of the tube. Current 13xx and 760’s have them not sure about Legacy rifles but how much would an xtra bit of plastic have added to the bottom line. The off set pin location (similar to Sheridan) really should have something to help firm up that area. But -

Stock appears to be cut from same piece of wood!

I hear you.
I made one from aluminum and another from Acetal.
Also made a thick spacer to fill in between the link pivot.
Really tightens up the pump experience.

Sent some pictures to Buck Rail a few months ago to see if he would be interested in 3D printing them.
Haven't got a response just crickets.

Yes, if it's black it's Acetal but I've made them from aluminum and brass also.

Actually what I ended up doing with my 362 is cut 4" off the tube and made it into a 5" stroke.
Center drilled the tube and used a stock 13xx barrel band and 2100 pump link.
Gun is even easier to pump also but takes 10 pumps to equal the 8 strokes of the 362. (10x5=50", 8x6.375=51")
Made a a highly controversial shark pump arm.
Basically a Lego 2100 and I like it a lot better.
Not sure why Crosman went with the 6 3/8" stroke and offset pump link.

one thing that helped accuracy on 2 of my 362s on 7&8 pumps was to loosen the barrel band grub screw pump it 8 times ,then while under pressure re tighten the grub screw... helped on the 24" .22 barrel a little helped the 26" .177 barrel more...I think it will be different on each rifle tho...

early on I said I thought the 362 L.E. should come with a threaded front sight mount/Mbreak... that is exactly the one I think I had seen and envisioned... never could find it again tho... just the regular Disco front sight mount...wanted it for my maximus... what model was that from? or did you make it from a maximus threaded adapter with the disco sight..?

there was one other thing on my wish list... I was hoping front sight would have the grooves like the 788-010 sight to make it possible to fit a front sight hood...

I have always felt you automatically center the front sight with the hood when using a rear peep sight... just slightly quicker sighting and maybe just a touch more natural accuracy...

plus I just like the looks... made the 761xl look good..

and just seems to belong on the rifle with the rear peep imo...

well, that would probably come close to what I want...

but...

 almost all dovetail globe sights I have seen for years are tall... I am one who wants low mount when sending lower fpe rounds...especially high drag pellets..

I was surprised by this too. Such a simple thing that they put in other less expensive guns. I have one of Ron's Black versions in mine and you would not believe how well it tightens up the pump arm. No slop at all and still as easy and smooth as it was before. It is surprising that folks like Mellon, Alchemy, Alliance or others haven't picked this up as an aftermarket upgrade part.
