.25 Synrod Camo Job

I have owned my Synrod .25 for about 5 years. It is a great gun. Stinking accurate with JSB Hades!
I got tired of the way it looked. Plain old boring black synthetic stock. It has a Athlon Talos 4-14x40mm scope.
I decided to look around on YouTube at different camo painting techniques. There are a bunch of them. All of them good, really.
The one that I chose uses rubber bands. It gives the rifle a grass type finish.
I went to WalMart and got paint. Khaki, Earth Brown, Army Green, and Matte Clear. I also got some rubber bands of different widths. I went by Staples and got some thicker ones as well.



I degreased everything and taped off everything I didn't want to get painted, then I laid down a base coat of Khaki on the scope and rifle.



Next to go on were the first rubber bands.



Then the Earth Brown.





Followed by the Army Green.



The trick is to not move the rubber bands you just painted over when you are putting a new layer of them on.
After another round of rubber bands I finished up with another coat of Khaki.
Here's how it ended up looking after I cut all of the rubber bands off.









I still need to hit it with about 3 coats of mate clear. Honestly I like it! It's not boring anymore.
It was a lot of fun and very satisfying too. Not that difficult to do. Just got to be patient and take your time.
I think I'm going to do this to one of my shotguns in the future.

Robert, that's a pretty cool camo job on your Synod!  I did my a couple years ago using the same paint, but I used branches, leaves and pine needles I found laying around in the yard!  I only did the stock, not the whole gun, but that whole enchilada paint job you did looks good!

I've wrapped a few rifles in different vinyl but never a camo job like that with the spray paint. Always intimidated me for some reason. I have a lot of respect for you guys that paint your guns! Pretty awesome.

Honestly, it is not that hard to do.
The good news is, if you don't end up liking it, you can always paint over it very easily with a different pattern.
I have also camo wrapped several shotguns and rifles, and honestly I like the way this turned out better.
I plan on picking up a new budget black polymer pump shotgun soon. Instead of paying extra for one that has a camo finish I will
be doing it myself using this method, only I will use Brownells Aluma Hyde II epoxy paint instead, because it will last longer and is impervious to cleaning solvents.
With the Marauder, I'm not that worried about it.

 Strange thing here, I use to rattle can everything, and still have not painted or dipped an airgun, I do have everything I need to do a few guns in dip, it does involve spray painting a base layer and a sealing coat, just have not decided what gun to start with
