Ideas to Lighten Forearm

I'm in the process of making a forearm piece for a RAW chassis.  I've cut a few different prototypes from walnut.  The issue is that they are all HEAVY.  They weight about 1.5 lbs.  I tried drilling some holes in the top of one of the pieces.  The holes are mostly hidden by the chassis and the bottle, but it barely made a dent in the weight.  I only have a drill press, router, and a compound miter saw, so I'm somewhat limited as to what I can do.  I do plan to put a 1/2" bevel along the entire top of the piece (mostly for looks and so it matches withe chassis.)  I am also thinking about drilling holes in the sides to skeletonize the piece, but I'm not sure if I'll like the look.  Does anyone have some other ideas besides drilling holes?

You could use your router to completely open the center, leaving around a 1/4” on the sides. Leave a web every so often.
