3D Printed Globe Sight

I got bored at work and decided to make a globe front sight for my Beeman Sportsman. This rifle has no front sight mounts, so I went with a clamp on style. Inserts are 17mm OD and 1mm thick. The insert screw uses 20mmX2.5 threads. I went with the bigger threads to make it easier to 3D print. The barrel clamp has an OD of 20mm. The clamp portion uses two M3 screws and nylon nuts to hold it to the barrel shroud.

The original file format was made with FreeCAD, but I uploaded the STL versions as well. If you have FreeCAD, you can customize this sight for your own rifle barrel/shroud. You just have to extract the assembly from the zip file.

To customize in FreeCAD for your own barrel size, open up the "Globe Sight Housing" body, open the "Housing Body" pad and then the "Housing Body Sketch". You should be able to change the 20mm diameter to whatever size you want without breaking the  body.

To print, you'll want to print the "Sight-Globe" and "Sight-Screw" pieces. The other parts are inserts.
