Well I saw this gun up for sale and I made an offer to the guy who had it and he accepted it so I couldn't pass this this little gem up! it's been tuned with a JM kit and seal and all I can say is WOW! These guns are very nice shooters, let me get this out of the way first, I have very bad eye sight and can no longer shoot with iron sights so I did my best to try with this gun to see if I could even shoot it good enough to test it out before I did anything else with it so I shot this target at 10yds just to see how the gun shot and I also did some sight adjustments on this target as well, I was using Crosman Coppedhead Pointed Pellets just for the heck of it to see if they'd shoot, I've been wanting another HW50s or an R7 again since I sold the ones I had but I thought I've never had a 124 so I thought I'd give one a try and I got what I thought was pretty good deal on this one so hey here it is and all I can say is this rifle is way better than an R7 or the 50s by a long shot and you guy's know I love the HW/Beeman guns!

Mark.....I agree that they are wonderful shooters! You have a really nice looking piece there! Congratulations! I have an older one, basic sporter.....(1980), that I picked up at a reasonable price. I am still toying with getting a Maccari walnut stock to dress her up, but I have to do some work on the bluing first. My gun also likes CPHPs....and nearly anything else I put in the breech!
I too, suffer from aging eyesight, so I put a 4X32 Leapers with AO, and what a difference....now I can see JUST how accurate it is without walking down to look at the target. I am not sure of the age of yours...and whether it has the scope stop grooves running perpendicular to the barrel, but if it does, Lewis Reinhold (Beeman Australia), may have some Sportsmatch mounts, (made for the 124 and the Webley Patriot). They are great mounts and hold really solidly. He made me a much better deal than I could get here in the States or in the UK.
Here is his email, should you want to email him and see what he still has left: lewisbelinda@yahoo.com. He accepted a bank check from me...and as a matter of fact, sent the mounts before he got the check. He got the check the same day I got the mounts (about a week). He's a real gentleman and a pleasure to deal with.
Best of luck and congrats again on your new piece!

Yessiree- I know what you mean.
Congrats on the gun! If it's anywhere near the same gun as mine for shooting, you'll never let it go. I wouldn't sell my FWB for 10 times what I paid for it, and if I'm ever in a position to have to sell off my guns, and it's a choice between eating and having my air rifles, it will be the last to go.

You're more than welcome! It is easy to work on too! I put a new JM piston seal in mine and love it for it's accuracy. The only airgun that I have that comes close in shooting pleasure is the HW35, but when the tree rats come digging in the yard, I find myself reaching more often for the FWB! Wonderful piece!

You're welcome Mark....and you will enjoy dealing with Mr. Reinhold. Glad you were able to get to him before he's completely sold out.

Congrats on yet another fine rifle!
The FWB 124D is as good as you hear they are and I'd definitely recommend one too.
I rescued one from craigslist a few months ago. I got a decent price on it, despite being in somewhat rough condition. It needed a new seal, as it was one of the early guns from when Beeman was in San Anselmo, and the original was totally disintegrated. And I got it with pieces in different bags from the seller, but it was pretty easy to work on and get back together.
After I got the new seal from airrifleheadquarters I got it up and running in just a few hours. Its definitely the easiest-to-cock springer I've ever shot and a pleasure to shoot. Mine's sorta twangy at the moment, but even so, it shoots really well, even with two issues I have to deal with before getting it back into good shape. I think its such a keeper that I'll order a special spring kit from JM with custom guides, spring and seal in the near future.
VERY nice one you got there, Mark. I just wish mine looked as pretty, though with my "beater" one I don't have to worry about hurting it out in the field!

Here's an idea for a quest for you Mark611. I've noticed you tend to collect different calibers of the same gun.
You need to get that FWB124D of yours a partner so it won't be lonely!
They are more rare, but you need to start looking for a FWB 127, which is the model that comes in .22 cal. It might be hard to find, but you seem to have good luck finding what you are looking for. I think the .22 cal. would be a really nice shooter. Good luck with the hunt if you decide to search for your gun's mate!
