A good initial barrel cleaning might help. In the tightening, did you try the pivot screw? Make sure the scope is tight. But it's VERY possible you have a bad scope. My XL1100 was dead on at 30 yards, popping paintballs. Then I took it out again and it was like a shotgun. Could not put a round within an 8" Shoot-N-C target. Come to find out my new scope was through. I replaced it with an el cheapo Powerline 3-9X32 scope and my XL was back on dead bull at 30 yards. Where did you buy it? I would consider taking it back, see if they will exchange it or possibly just the scope. If not, Crosman has an excellent customer service department. They will help you out too, if needed.Let us know and....Happy Shooting!!!!Dave
