P-rod in .177? Who has done it?

I was thinking of getting a P-rod and converting it to .177. This will be for my son, swapping parts from his 1377-based target gun onto the P-rod so he will have a PCP.
Just wondering who has done it already or if there’s an easier path to convert the MSP to PCP. Maybe using a Discovery lower assembly?
Multi-shot capability is not critical.
Thx. JMJinNC

If you can just pick up a 1720t. I have had a few and they are incredibly accurate.

With that configuration, all you need is a Disco tube, probably a shortened one, and its parts.
How long is that barrel?

I'm pretty sure you are capable of reducing the tube length yourself, Mr. John.
Mine is a low power Disco/2260 with a .038 MAP hammer spring and a Challenger transfer port.

Baker Airguns has that tube if Crosman does not have them in stock.

If you can just pick up a 1720t. I have had a few and they are incredibly accurate.
Yes, that one too, but they are now very expensive and not even available.
I have one, a 1720T with a 10" 1701P barrel.
There were no 1720T barrels when I built it, so I went for the shorter barrel.
Again, mine is set up for short range, about 25 to 28 yards, so it's a low power build.
It has a .038" MAP hammer spring and a red transfer port, the smallest.
With a PROD shroud, it's very quiet even w/o a "can".
It likes JSBs and AAs, but is even better with H & N FTT 4.52 pellets.
After months of not shooting anything, I shot it today and was so impressed, as it was drilling the same spot with the aforesaid H & N.
I like my Don Cothran stainless builds, but the 17xx platform feels much sleeker and is so much easier to load.

Built a few Prods from parts.
Both are great guns.
The 17 cal uses a 9 ci bottle.

The 22 cal has a Huma regulator, recently added a 500 mm FX barrel liner.

Can also mod your 13xx.

As mentioned, using a shorty disco tube would allow you to use most of the 13xx parts.
With that said, I really like the multi shot function of the Prod breech.
Might get more response in the PCP section.
