Mine's been needing new stock bracket and screws ever since warranty repair screwed it up and tried to extort a couple hundred dollars from me if I wanted it back.

I wouldn't give $.02 for another Diana ANYTHING!

There's probably been a dozen postings about it since, including how it took the State Attorney General's involvement just to get it back. I wouldn't consider starting the process over on the premise that I need to prove I'm not lying.

AAMOF, some would consider the statement above my avitar and long list of airguns with only ONE Diana made gun as an indicator this isn't a fabrication. There are three others to add to my signature, and I assure you they were NOT made by Diana or Umarex.

Let's not derail this thread further, you can PM me if you wish to respond.

That's something that is under discussion.
From a global perspective, the laws change and they evolve.
We, in the US are barely scratching the surface as pertains the "right to repair".
So, I cannot say more than that; apart that the spares situation (and not only as regards the EMS) is being looked at.

I don't think there will, or should, be any "trade in" because there has never been the need for a recall. The product may not have fit the market as expected, but that is not enough to justify a trade-in program as a recall would. The rifles were never unsafe, neither would they, systematically, underperform to their specs. AaMoF, the contrary was true.

As I wrote; to ME, the way forward would be to keep some of the design characteristics of the EMS, while re-instating the fixed barrel/breech-block of the Classic but, then, I am only an advisor.

Just saw a brief video from IWA 2025 on the upcoming products by Diana (I added the link to it):

What seems interesting to me is that even though the 34 classic is being reinstated, it still has some elements from the EMS (the rear sight comes from the EMS as well as the fact that the dove tail section for mounting optics is now directly on the cylinder and not on the "base-plate" that was a feature of older/legacy diana airguns).

Is the price point going to be in the 300 ball-park or somewhere close to that?

Glad to see the EMS sights on the 34. I often shot the EMS offhand scopeless as I liked the sights.

Looked like there's still no rubber butt pad? If things are changing, put a rubber butt pad on there!

Also no threaded muzzle even though the front sight is updated as well?

Scratching my head a bit about those, but the overall vibe is a good one.

Yes, some things from the EMS should be kept. I don't think the stock screws are attaching to the tube, since that is a bit more expensive to make,
But the elimination of the scope rail is something that goes in this direction.
Haven't seen the price yet.

@ splitbeing.- As I mentioned above this is an exercise in cost cutting, so I don't think the rubber buttpad is coming back. Same goes for threaded muzzles.
I don;t think the front sight is different from the latest versions of the 34 Classic. That front end came with the 340 NTec and it was simplified for the 36 and then went on some of the 34's.
The EMS version was taken directly from there.

Going back to OP, what can u expect for old ones when new ones show up at such heavy discounts. I do not consider guns / airguns as investment and expect to recover principle amount on resale. Best case would be to enjoy them and when ur done pass them to ones who would for FAIR compensation.

As for Hector’s comment above on cost cutting, it will only take them down alongside Chinese and Turkish airgun companies route. Instead they should double down on desirable features , quality and command premium price alongside AA and HW. For example there plenty of posts complaining about cheap plastic sights and end caps on Diana, while the same people readily pay through nose for HW and AA that comes without open sights.
@Hector, I would be a fool to question you on the science , manufacturing and economics of airgun. But if none of it works , would it not make sense to try something different?

Probably no warranty, not that it makes much difference since they don't honor it anyway.

If it was free shipping I'd give $2.00 for it, strip the bracket and screws from it and put the rest in the trash can...

In any case, I still think they BOTH are good rifles. The differences are slight and while some of us may like some things and dislike others, the converse is true for other shooters.

Making airguns is not all about the engineering side. There are a BUNCH of "stakeholders" in the equation.
From Distributors that do NOT want to carry spare parts, or educate their technicians (hard to call some of them gunsmiths); to the shareholders that require not only a profit, but also a market share, passing through the people that assemble the blooming things that have a whole bunch of rules and regulations protecting their jobs.

So, it is a hard balance to achieve.

I doubt that there is a better airgun than the 54, but that is just me. The 48 can do anything any of the other airguns can with a bit of imagination. The 460 is a real powerhouse that can rival some of the PCP's.The34 is a true all-around workhorse, and the return of the 280 will re-fill that niche that was open.
On top of that the Action line (made in China by SPA) is coming out with the MkII versions of the Outlaw and the Skyhawk that pretty neat. The Action line springers are not polite discussion material in this forum, LOL! They do, however, play an important role worldwide and bottom line-wise.
AND, the worldwide market is quite different from what we (here in the forum) do, enjoy and feel.

So, couple those things together and we have a funny little train that is definitely not geared towards the "cognoscenti".

If you are interested in the EMS, even as a technical oddity, I would advise you get one at this price ($262.20).

OR, for $36.80 more wait and get the Classic.

All  I can say about THAT particular Diana is just WOW!! That stock is just beautiful, as is the entire rifle. AND a .22 cal no less. That stock CAN'T be a normal piece of wood, you won the wood lottery with that one...  If you care to say, what did those rifles cost when new?
