I was hoping you guys had a schematic of the DAR gen 2. I am looking to see how to fix the magazine detent. Mag keeps falling on the ground while you cycle the action. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

It’s held by a spring-loaded ball plunger threaded in from the front of the receiver (the face where the barrel is inserted).  It most likely just backed out a little.  Reach in with a hex key to advance the little ball through to reach the magazine.  I don’t remember the drive size...probably 2mm.

Apply a little threadlocker to keep it in place.  Or you might be able to load another grub screw in behind it to serve the same role as a jam nut.

I put a tiny strip of tape on the front and it friction fits now.

Looks like black tape it is.

1.5mm hex on either side of the barrel clamp (go easy, they strip easy and the dont have a lot or thread holding them in) loosen them and pull it off the airtube and shroud. Grab the shroud and twist CCW, it will unthread and come off with all the baffles, so keep it nose down.

Then remove the barrel by loosening the two grubs on top of the rail, pull the barrel out. No need to ever remove the threaded collar with the 4 grubs.

Flip it over to remove the air tube, it's safe to do so if you are removing it as one piece, the stock mounting lug and the one next to it come out then just pull the tube out. Leave the one next to the air tube itself alone, that is the bleeder screw NEVER loosen this!

All you have left is the receiver.

The threaded collar is what is in the way of getting to the setscrew for the detent it looks like.

Tape keeps falling off. Going to have to fix it or clean the metal better.

Just 2 grubs on the top of the rail to loosen and pull the barrel out. Don't remove the collar with the 4 tiny grubs.

Thanks for the tip. I had tried adding tape on the magazines but this is the right way. I added a little blue loctite after adjusting. Even though it's a pcp and doesn't have much recoil I have had to loctite a number of screws so far.

Firewalker have you ever dropped the Dar .177 across a chrony? Just wondering the speed it might be flinging lead rocks at. I have not adjusted anything. Dont think I will anytime soon.

So if anyone has this problem just pull your scope. Then loosen the two screws holding the barrel on up the top of the receiver. Lightly slide the barrel out three inches. Go in with a 2mm allen and remove the detent. Clean and place on drop of blue Loctite on your finger to lightly apply to the screw. Replace with a mag in constantly checking as you can over insert the screw. Once good just let it dry before messing with the mag. Just replace barrel and snug the two top receiver screws again. Remount the scope and you should be good to go. Fix time 2 minutes. I didn't even remove the shroud.

Yes, I started with the stock tune of 952fps and turned the regulator down to 863fps where the RWS Meisterkugeln settled right down into a single hole.

Hi, I am new to the site. I just did the detent thing to my DAR, but now it does not shoot. I put it back together the same as I took it apart. The action seems to work fine. but no pellet shoots. What did I do wrong. I already looked at all the obvious. Thanks for all help.

Just a guess: Did you align the barrel transfer port to face straight down?

Is the gun "firing" meaning, is the hammer hitting the poppet stem and releasing air?

Thanks for the reply. I just now took it back apart. Looks like somehow I got a pellet jammed in the barrel air port. I just got the barrel back on and fired a pellet. It looks like it is fixed for now. I will put it all back together and run a magazine though it . I hope it is fixed. thanks again Firewalker for the reply. All your talk on the gen11 got me to buy it. Joe was very helpful when he was at customer service. Sure miss talking to him.

Firewalker good job on helping Mandn out. It was something about a kitchen, I think. The good thing about life is trying different things. When it comes to air guns you have played with many so life must be good.
