Your rifle may not be the same as the one you are referencing.
Different condition of pump seal or hammer spring, etc.

well I do deal in theoretical... educated by experience having fun building pumpers and a bit of math...and Bobs post here fill in the gaps very well...

just with a stock .1 ci valve My 362-17 long(Maximus barrel) hits peak power (8 pumps) with 13.4g Monster at  14.3 fpe at just under 700 fps... The Seneca 16.g are just a bit over weigh and output drops to 13.5 fpe... over-pumping to 10 pumps well that gets them to 657 fps/15.4 fpe...

Crosman engineers have stated the 362 uses a 13xx valve...volume mods can enlarge the modded stock valve to about  30% more volume...some mild flow mods will help also... with a .13 ci valve ten pump will be about 100 psi less than the stock valve at 8 pumps... 11 pumps will be about 100 psi over... 12 pumps probably about 225 psi...

So yep 18 fpe on 12 pumps looks to be very possable even at 16g in .177... .22 will be  bout /20+ fpe if all is done well... and that is with a pump cup not flat top piston and valve... Strain on the rifle will be very near the same as stock at 11 pumps..

Not so great for your supposition, is it? That Kirby debunked it several pages ago with reply #50. And then there are the vids you clearly haven't watched before making your claims.

I won't ask you why you posted before doing your due diligence.

Did you upgrade the valve? I thought you only swapped barrels. Please get a chronograph, some day I do want to modify my c362, but so far nobody wants to back up their claims with chorno data and I can't buy something based on anecdotes.

Anyone who has any doubts as to the efficacy of either the .177 or the .22 Disco SE 24" barrels is free to peruse the fine work done by Kirby who posted reply #50. And/or ask him or Bill for help in making your respective 362's more competitive with those of everyone else who is thinking outside of the box.

My .177 Disco SE 24" barrel is supposed to be here this afternoon. I'll be cleaning it with goo gone, and then swapping barrels again.

Thanks to Bill, I know that I can get at least 684 fps/11 fpe at 8 pumps with the 10.5 Cpum and 721 fps/12.21 fpe with the H&N 10.65.

Thanks to Chairgun, I know the drop of the 10.65 at 70 yards is 11.18 inches.

After some practice to check the trajectory at 70 yards; I'm now set up to complete my pigeon project. The only problem I can see so far is that my freezer is probably not large enough to hold all of the pigeons I'll soon be bagging.

You guys are not going to believe this. I didn't get my .177 Disco SE barrel today. It's still on back order. That's what the invoice says. I did get the 2nd 1/2-20 adapter for the maximus barrel I'd ordered though. I am livid.

Thank goodness for Chairgun, which tells me...

For a C362 sighted in at 25 yards using 14.3 Cphp/Cpum; at 70 yards the pellet will have 476 fps/7.27 fpe and a drop of 13.57 inches. At 75 yards the pellet has a drop of 16.74 and thereafter drops like a stone. Good thing my pigeon project is at (approximately) 70 yards.

I made a mistake yesterday using 3 pumps sighting in at 10m. I should have used 2 pumps. Doing that will give me a full 40 yards, (possibly further due to the slightly higher fps), before having to use hold over.

I've heard snake is actually pretty good, but Pidgeon, or doves, are actually a delicacy and most people ate them prior to the industrial era. Most families kept flocks of doves for eating.

If the bird flu ever ends on the East Coast I'd love to have my own flock of doves or pigeons. I would probably just skin them rather than pluck all those tiny feathers. I don't process enough chickens per year to pluck them, so I usually skin those too, but I preserve the good skins.

I posted a couple of links; but, I've been eating pigeons since I was a kid. Often raw too.
How's that you might ask?

When my Dad remarried after divorcing my mom; for whatever strange reason he chose a Polynesian woman with 5 kids. Terms of the divorce forced me into the arms of this strange (and very foreign culture to me at the time) during each summer until I was 13.

Ever eat 'Hawaiian meatballs'? Those took some getting used to and I never did. I'd gladly use them for targets today.

Came to find out I was related to half the Samoan population in Oceanside California (ever watch 'Animal Kingdom"? Yeah, THAT 'Oceanside')...all of whom had been assigned to protect me. Samoans are a very loyal people.

Their kids roam the streets and ocean looking for food 24/7/365. The families scoured the town every day for the cheapest bargains and would feed their families a TON of food. I'm not even joking. Each house would be like a fried chicken stand. That's how much food they'd pump out.

And, it would never be enough....Ever.

So, yeah, I'd catch fish and learned how to filet even the smallest ones. While I'd be doing that someone else would pull out the chopsticks...(another fun skill I learned at an early age), another 'cousin' would be pulling out the condiments and we'd all pig out.

I was maybe 9.

They really liked me because I was accurate with a wrist rocket slingshot. I brought down a lot of pigeons. Several a day. Since I killed them I didn't have to pluck them.

I'll let you know tomorrow morning if my shots have more than 13.18 inches of drop at 70 yards at 8 pumps.
If they do; I'll grant you that I might have need of a chrony to help 'diagnose' the 'problem'.

Are you guys noticing a difference in accuracy between older Crosman 14.3 CPHP's and the recent tins of $6.24 CPHP Amazon and Wally World have been pushing?

I did notice the logo on the new tins is different. The pellet shown is much larger on recent tins. I figured the color gray was cheaper than white for the tins.

I'd been using an old can of cphp and getting good accuracy with them. I opened a tin of the new cphp's and the accuracy is still good; but, several of my shots are flyers and some of them will be a foot off target. Talk about disconcerting.

I suspected a burr might be in the transfer port of the new 24" Disco SE barrel I've been shooting. I'd recalled some other folks here talking about that.

Clearly I need to test some different brands of pellets rather than sticking with the once 'Old Reliable'.
See if I have some flyers with those.

My .22 Disco 24" barrel is a tack driver with Cpum. There's a catch though.
It's a tack driver with the can off.

It's the maximus adapter that's throwing things off. I didn't have it secured well enough to the barrel. This adapter does not come with a screw to tighten it to the barrel. Adapter was moving which made the can move out of step with the rifling in the barrel.

If my .177 Disco 24" barrel is as accurate as this barrel is; I may never take it off. I'll definitely have to get another 362 for my .22 barrel.

For $8.65 they're pretty good adapters. They do the job they're designed to do.
But yeah, your mod to tighten the adapter sounded good. .
Pity I'd already secured it.
I may do that with my next one.
I'm about 99.99% sure I'll have to get another 362.
Can't let a perfectly good barrel be laying around getting dusty when it could be put to good use.

Yes, the condom method works good and somehow aligns the adapter naturally.

When using adapters, it's what I do; not relying solely on the set screw.

I remove the membrane, a drawback when using this recipe, that covers the bore with a heated needle.
