I don't remember running a string after the final cut of the 24" barrel to 21". I'll try to remember to do that.

Ok. 42 fps difference between 18" and 24" barrels?

Split the difference and call it 21 fps for 21" and 24"?

There's about a 30 fps difference between the 21 and the 24 in .22.

WOW! A whopping gain of 21 fps for the extra 3 inches of barrel.
So much for the adage that an inch of barrel is good for 10 fps, eh?

Yep. I often find real time results somewhat differ from lofty reports.

So, what I've done with these 2 guns is made them into exactly what I intended. Plinkers and short range pesters.
Mostly Betty Lou and I have paintball, army men and paper competitions. We have several sets of twin guns in various platforms. These will be among our favorites along with the Sheridans, M/M 880s and a couple sets of low power springers. We also have twins in low power PCP and C02 as well as various pistols.

I would have to look, it's either the 10.5 cpum or the H&N match 10.65.

I was re-reading your "This is my 362" thread. I liked this line:
"After I got the #805 she was able to pump it without issue but complained about the little .177 pellets."

A couple of ladies I know also found my 362 easy to pump. We've already had this discussion of why the 362 is easy to pump. LOL

It kills me whenever I see people posting of how they're having trouble pumping the 362.
You could knock me over with a feather, way I'll be laughing whenever I see those.
Guess they're eating tofu for breakfast instead of Wheaties, maybe?

21 inch barrel is more accurate for you than the 24?
I'm not too concerned about a 0.5 fpe loss either. Accuracy is more important.
I saw a few posts about a 22 incher from Mac1.

I'd always planned on having the barrel cut and crowned to 21 anyway.

I read somewhere that anything over 22" was counter productive to fps because the valve volume wasn't enough and it would actually slow the pellets, from what I'm seeing here that seems to be bs.

The power is all very well.  And power sells.  But I don’t buy guns that don’t appeal to me aesthetically.  There are lots of powerful guns on the market.  Why should I buy this one?  The look will appeal to some but I prefer the look and feel of a steel and hardwood gun.  Put a nice wood stock on it and I’ll buy one!

I am the thumbhole only fan. By necessity I need the grip to be vertical and not laid back like a traditional stock.  I do get the blued and wood though,  beautiful combination.

Nope, not to my knowledge. Besides, the 24" barrel is only like $20 through Crosman. You ain't gonna find anything that cheap at any length. However, if you're not equipped or have the experience to chop and crown one it's another story. I've done several.. I just happened to have a more professional source to do this one... free. 
Somewhere in the thread I linked above is the actual cost of the 24". I'm sure it was right around $20 give or take.

That being the case, considering there is the slight velocity gain with the 24, then it seems there is little advantage to having it cut and crowned. Might as well leave it whole.

I remember some guys even looking into a 26" barrel.
Like I said, I just wanted a pair of compact plinker pesters in the 'lego' platform with the full stock they came with.
The only reason I went with the 18" is because I already had it on hand from another 'lego' project. After I put it on there it just grew on me. And I kinda like loud and proud.    The original plan was both to be 21".
Granted, you cannot put an LDC on the 18" without further irreversible modifications.... another thing I didn't want to get into.
At this point in the game, all my 'lego' guns can be broken down, put in a pile and make something different... kinda like an airgun erector set.

Now that I think about it the 1322 was the subject, does the 362 use the same valve?

I think my LDC is longer than that...Heh, ... yep, it'll be longer.
Only disadvantage I can think of would be if I was hunting in heavy brush. Lots of vines, etc.
Oh wait...I don't hunt in heavy brush anymore. Guess the one disadvantage it might have isn't a concern after all.

Might have to watch the ceiling when shooting inside. Since I point it straight up to snap a pellet in. That might be something to watch out for.

I think I said already the extra length would (at worst) only remind me of the M-14 rifle. That rifle does have a 22 inch long barrel and a 4 inch long flash suppressor. The length was a little disadvantageous in the jungle. My 362 would be even longer than that. Better stay out of the brush with it, huh?
