Also has a marauder trigger on it, which is a huge improvement if you're interested. Like $50 bucks from crosman and a little shimming to get it to function right, or add a Prod hammer or Magnum Air Power hammer, and get a challenger trigger guard or make one like I did. Night and day different.

Yeah, that's not too shabby. I don't stretch mine past 30-40 or so, it opens up a little lol. If it was a choked barrel and more power, it would probably group tighter out to 50+.

They make great off hand pesting guns or small game rifles. I've killed more stuff with my discos than any other gun in my arsenal including firearms.

Maybe try some slugs. LOL I have some Nielsen slugs common in a couple of days. Lite ones 22.2gr I think. No choke may work fine. Worth a try.

Yeah I have a little problem this spring with some pests. Been trying to scare them with my bb guns but they my have to be felt with. The Disco would be my choice. Tuned down a bit.

Dunno, I've seen some vids of a disco using slugs and it wasn't very promising lol. Looked worse than buckshot at 100 yards and the guy was shooting at like 30 I think. Slugs need power. I have some 20.6 grain I can try.

Yeah dont want to waste then just give em a try. Like you say the Disco is a close in guy. I go the slugs for the Avenger and Flashpup for a hunt this spring in SD for Prairie Dogs. Just something different than the powder berners all the time. More of a stalking kinda hunt.

Just googled the 3 screw mod. I had no idea. maybe I will try that one once i get this fixed. One crisis at a time

Here mine just finishing it up … years collecting 2nd hand Cothran parts & pieces … sleeved up an old .20 cal brass barrel to 7/16 x 19-1/2” … 2 screw trigger mod. Stock internals & just thinking I should upgrade the valve screws to magnum power screws … just in case

Thats the sexiest synthetic stocked disco I think I've seen! .20 cal is definitely unique, and cothran parts are top notch. Those magnum air power valve screws are my go to on any disco/22xx pcp build. I've had them up to 4000 psi before and never a problem. His valves are no joke either.

Yes, many years ago when I was more of a hack then a machinist! It had to have a separate knob for the hammer because you would break the bolt handle trying to compress the spring I had in there when running a .30 barrel. That was a mostly failed project and my poor Disco has a lot of scars from it.

I figured it was from the 30 cal build, you probably had a huge spring in there for that!
My disco cranked down with the .045 spring feels like I'm going to snap the handle sometimes.

Ok opened er up to take a look. Everything looks great. The only thing I can find is a little wear on this bar. Is it called the transfer bar? Anyway is this enough to not allow for a good lockup on the hammer? I gave the hammer a quick check and it looks ok. If the transfer bar needs to be replaces should the hammer be replaced also? That is assuming the bar has enough ware on it to cause the problem. Idono

Also if they do need to be replaced should I go to Crosman or is there a better place? How long does it normally take from Crosman?

If it isn't broken off, I would put it back together but give that big spring that goes down to the safety and up under the sear, give it a little bend up on the part that goes to the sear. Itll put more tension on the sear to help it lock into the hammer.
Crosman parts would be super cheap that spring and sear would probably be 10 bucks with their $4 shipping. Take about 2 days to get to you since they're in NY state.

Nothing is broken. Other than a little wear where the bar contacts the hammer everything looks good.
Just read you post. Yes I can try that. Is it a bad idea to dress the front edge that holds the hammer back just to make it more 90*.

Sorry for all the picts but I only have an iPhone. I figure maybe one or two will give ya what you need.

That looks like normal wear to me. You can pinkish it up if you want, itll make it smoother on release. Don't take off too much material though. I think the spring truck will fix it for you, they do weaken a little over time.

Yeah, bend that sear end up about an 1/8" maybe a hair more and try it. Worst that will happen if you go to far is sear drag which will cause a drop in velocity but you'd have to bend it like a half inch up lol
