Done buying PCPs for a while

I to had to put a kabosh to pcp addiction, not far from retiring and need to get everything paid off. Messy Michael put an end to a lot of my future purchases and hopefully there will not be another house wrecker blowing my way in the future. I am happy with the selection I have for now. Trying to finish rounding up wood working tools and machines to crank up my business again. I was doing very well with my work until the first gulf war broke out and everything came to an abrupt end and I had to find a real job with a retirement plan of some kind. What I have in guns will put food on my table and give me pleasure in my free time, what more could I ask for.

I ordered DAR G3 in .22 today and this is the last for a long while. I may order a .22 and .25 barrels/bolts for my akela to convert back and forth, but thats about it. If the Kervan c4 shapes up to be as accurate as my hatsan hydra, I will sell the hydra. I like the looks and feel of the kervan better and it has more air capacity. The side lever is smooth too, much better than the farm implement style bolt on the hatsan lol.

I don't hardly shoot the ones I have any more. I like the 362, that's impressed me  but the rest just seem to be the same design with different labels and stocks, JMO. The one I shoot the most, ( my pride and joy), is the QB79 that Nervoustrigger tuned for me. That is one a lazer gun, and is very quiet.

I think I am done buying PCPs as well. The Umarex Origin was interesting and powerful enough to get me started on them, then the .357 Challenger gave me all the power I need in a big bore while the Sumatra gives me matching high power in a .22. The pair of Diana Bandits lets my wife and I both play around with them together so that is pretty much a full set for any occasion.

haha, after posting that, i headed over to the air gun store to buy some accessory i didn't need, and i turned around and went to the grocery store instead, knowing i might break and buy another gun within an hour of posting that.

I find it takes me several months to get a new airgun set up just the way I want it.  I have to increase the length of pull to fit me, sometimes I need to raise the comb.  It needs a scope and mount.  The trigger usually needs adjusted.  Then I have to find the right pellet and velocity for the pellet.  Enjoyable process but it takes time - working at a leasurely pace.

I plan to buy my fourth PCP as soon as Krale has a P35 in stock in 22.  I already have a scope and mount for it - roughly sighted in on my 25. 

I may "step up" in price, hopefully quality too, on the 5th.  RTI Prophet is the leading candidate but Uragan and Taipan Veteran are also interesting.  I wish these guns were not all so heavy, however.  The Prophet will need a moderator, the Taipan has the cocking lever in the back.  Uragan probably also needs a moderator and is heavy - they all are. 

I'm not done buying, just spacing them out and waiting for the one I want to be in stock.

Im done for a bit. I have some accessories to get and I want to upgrade a valve this summer but other than that I just want to spend a fair amount of time actually shooting this year. I still have a hard time seeing myself buy an airgun over $1500. But that would buy a really good used gun though lol.

I'm done buying for awhile...... but that didn't stop me from building another this weekend!

Crosman parts are so cheap, making Lego guns is just fun and a hobby I enjoy.

Just got this up and running. It's all sorts of stuff I cobbled together from parts. It has a benjamin wildfire tube I cut the end off and welded a butchered 2260 tube hammer section to. PVC breech riser, 14.5" barrel, disco valve, TKO, aluminum left hand breech from Baker, and an Mrod trigger. All stuffed in an old 160 stock from numrich. Just gotta make a trigger guard, refinish the stock with charcoal stain, and paint the action satin black.  The tube is about 3 inches longer than a standard 2260, has a monster spring in the hammer and a light valve spring. No roll stamping means I don't have to use an extension so I get extra air volume and also higher pressure.. Running 3500 psi right now and sending 18.13s around 850, 25.4s are going close to 775!

Going to be a truck gun, I have a bsa 4x32 scope going on top. I might cut the stock down a bit and use a one piece mount I have that fits perfectly on the scope rail section on front of the breech.

Ya know what else? At the end of the day, they all make the same little holes in the paper and knock the same squirrel out of the tree.
I have amassed over 100 airguns since I started this 8 or so years ago.. not counting the ones sold, trade or given away.
And don't even get me started on the PB stuff. I pity the fool that breeches my borders.... 

They should be more worried about the pooch than your guns because your dog would blow their cover much sooner.
It's amazing how much a dog will make people think twice about a home invasion, especially when they least expect it.

I'm doing my darnest to stay away from the temptations.......so far.

I enjoy shooting much more than tuning and modding.

Tuning may be needed, but modding should not be needed to enjoy an airgun.
Now, I am trying to avoid any air gun which needs modding (such as the Prod, anything which needs an SSG, etc).

Totally agree, forget mods I like guns pretty much the way they are from factory with the exception of regulated guns which always seem to need a tune from the “factory settings” which are totally useless. I’ve liked all my marauder rifle and pistol as they came . AEA shoot as is not much to do just enjoy

Mike that was one of my biggest peeves about a DAR gen 2 I bought quite a while back, is the fact that the regulator in it was set way too high for pellets that I wanted to shoot from it, it took me over a year to replace parts that were basically defective in my opinion which #1 was the degassing screw is made from really soft parts and once I degassed it that was it, never held air until I finally got the parts.  I've got it set good now but still haven't even been in the field with it yet and wondering if it's even worth the effort after that, still haven't even mounted a scope on it yet.  I'll NEVER buy another DAR.
