Flip up scope lens covers

I had about five sets of the monstrous flip up scope covers and had them fail within a few months
The rubber split down the side. Check out Amazon reviews on these.  I don't know if they have addresses the issue or not?

The only gun that I have them on right now is my Crosman 362.  I'm not really a big fan of them except in the rain.

Not a fan of scope caps.  The flip open ones don’t work well on my AO scopes and I always lose the elastic ones in the field. I quit bothering with them entirely about ten years ago.  Doesn’t seem to hurt the glass.

I've been using flip up scope covers from Amazon for quite some time now, have replaced several covers on all sorts of scopes for both PB and air guns. They run about $6 a piece, never had one fail until last week when I set my Challenger down on its side and bent the scope cover all the way backwards. Totally my fault.

Depending on the scope I either use metal ones from the manufacturer that match the scope or I don’t bother with them unless the rifle is going in  a safe. Rubber one tend to get in the way.

I think I have posted on this here before but the back 'flip up cover' works perfectly for me to block the left eye when shooting allowing me to keep both eyes open. I also have a 'dope dot' inside the cover for distances on PB, not needed so much for the short ranges with air guns but over 50 yards, I sure do need them.

And another option for the flip up covers,
get the stick on white disc's and write your trajectory info on the stick on,
then size the stick on fit the inside of the rear cover,
then you always have the info handy for the shot,
very easy to change the info, when needed.
 
All my scopes are set up this, getti'n too OLD to remember all that info
for all the different rifle/pistols............
