I think the accuracy in these guns depends on the shooter, not the gun itself. Both seem to have good adjustable two stage triggers and the barrels are good in both. LW is known for good barrels and some FT shooters swap BSA barrels to their guns so clearly they are top level as well. BSA makes their own barrels which is actually quite interesting nowadays. Since I was 14 I've wanted a BSA gun or lately AA gun, while I couldn't afford both I think BSA is a nice choice it being new and presenting the latest technology as far as valve systems go. I have nothing against AA, rather I'd like to have one but for the price I could only get a used gun that presents some 10 year old technology in PCPs. Well, we'll see if I'm happy when I get the gun...

Hi Guys,
AA S400/410/500/510 won several 100m contests in the Netherlands.
Then HW100 with a Polygone barrel and now the BSA's take their turn.
A Lonestar .25 and a BSA R10 ain't doing so bad either on 100m.
These as well adjusted guns in the hands of a well trained shooter on the specific rifle gives a winner.
I have a R10 .22 and a AA 510 .25 and it takes a little time every time i shoot a few mags to see the groups get smaller on the crosses i shoot.
Events always end with a big smile on my face and leave a happy feeling.
And the same is for our latest Shin Sung Fire 202s......a little witchcraft, a lot of practice, the right pellets and we have a party every time we shoot. Watch the bars in the cilinder for the sweetspot and the game is on.
It is just like the dogwisperer Cesar says........change the owner and the dog will follow.
Be the packleader of your guns ; calm and Assertive.....haha
regards

Got the Scorpion SE today and it seems to be a nice gun. The trigger is nice as it came from the factory. The magazine locking slide seems to be a bit flimsy and the loading of the bolt is a bit different from real fire arms. Accuracy seems to be good, a one holer at my indoor range with rws meisterkugelns. Very nice gun and quiet even without the moderator. I screwed on a AU moderator and all I could hear was the hammer and pellet hitting the target. I need to learn and shoot it a bit more but it looks good so far. I just have little to no time to test it properly at the moment

Tom
Gamo has owned BSA for that last 20 years or so. Until BSA guns start saying "made in Spain" on them you better believe they are some of the highest quality guns on the market

No it took place back in the late 80's or early 90's. There has been more talk recently because Gamo has moved production of the BSA spring guns to Spain and that has many people wondering when an of the PCP line-up will move to Spain. Hopefully they keep it in the UK because I love my BSAs and they shoot amazingly well

Straight from the BSA website. Clearly says that Gamo took ownership in 1986.

BSA for me. I have owned around 6 AA and 8 BSA PCPs. What I like about the BSA was the slightly better accuracy on average ( not that the AAs were inaccurate ) , the heavier barrels and shot count for the air tube size. The air effeciency with the AA guns is the biggest letdown for me. They have massive air tubes compared to other brands but get fewer shots per fill.

I haven't actually counted but based on pellet usage and the number of fills I get about 60 shots / fill with my SE which is fine for me. I also managed 5.5mm (edge to edge) 10 yard group with gamo pro magnums which is quite amazing for gamo pellets.

I also get about 50-60 good shots with both of my BSA's. They are regulated though so that helps.

The AA S400/500 series have very large air tubes 242cc for the standard and 318cc. The BSA tubes are 137cc for the rifles and 100cc for carbines. My BSA rifles would get more shots per CC than the AAs
My Xtra and ERB had the 318cc tubes, which is 80% the size of a 400cc tank, but would do less than 30 shots within a 20 fps spread. My AA Classic sub 12fpe version had a 242cc tube, it would do 60 shots while my BSA Scorpion Carbine with a less than half the size 100cc tube would do nearly 40 shots within the same velocity spread.
MY AA Carbines had 181cc tubes and wouldn't even get 20 shots within a 20 fps spread.

Mine is a 12fpe carbine and the new valve system should provide 30% more shots which matches the BSA shotcount as stated by others. With 12fpe R10 the shotcount should be 150
