little twang after gun is fired

 i have a R9 and seems to be a little twang from the rifle, it'd not too bad but its there, what can you put on the outside of the spring to help. heard some tuners use a light coat of tar, but i feel the velocity will not be a stable with tar, unless i am wrong

Tom Gaylord has shown chrony strings where velocities became more consistent after applying "Tune in a Tube" through cocking slots.
I wouldn't argue that it's as good as a pro-tune with custom guides,  but tar or sticky grease is a cheap and easy way to get a more enjoyably shot cycle.

Good place to start.  If that does not work you have options, but require work.
Tune in a Tube is your best bet to start.

PS you just squeeze some on the spring through the cocking slot.  No need to take the rifle out of the stock unless you want to do more.
