I need an FX Dreamtact now:)

Thinking like .177 match stick shooter gun with laser beam accuracy which I’m  certain this gun will provide, plus higher shot count vs bigger calibers

I say go for it. The gun will easily reach the velocity window for whatever pellet you want to shoot.

Only issue with that is not many people seem happy with .177 barrels from FX. There very hit and miss, pun intended. FX doesn't focus on .177 much so there other calibers tend to do better. You can find some people that are happy but if you search you will find many people with .177 FX barrels that are less than satisfied. Your likely better off in .22

.177 cal has a learning curve. You get it figured out you will be gold. good out to 50yds. Not shot my wildcat mk2 out that far yet 32yd during dove season best for it. Just can’t seem to get used to forward cocking lol. Prefer my mutant shorty .177.

I have my DreamTac Compact set-up in .177.  With the collapsable, folding stock and the 320mm barrel it's very compact, light weight and still very accurate!  I added the Huma Air duel TP and Pin Probe and speeds from the 8.34 grain H&N Sniper Mediums went from 844 FPS (13.2 FPE) to 954 FPS (16.9 FPE).  It's a heck of a compact, lightweight pester!

I have also heard of the .177 thing with FX. I don’t think I would let it sway me from a DL compact purchase though. You are only a liner, probe and mag away from making it a .22 if need be. I’ve heard several guys griping about the .177 but that was with different platforms. No DL compact guys seem to have the same issue. There might be something to that.

i thought about you when i read the op....hope'n you would tell that your .177 is very accurate !!!

Yep, very happy with mine!  I don't shoot beyond 40 yards, so I can't say what it's like at 50 or more, but at 35-40 yards it gets the job done!

Just for giggles, I just took the DTC out and shot a 10 round group at 40 yards into a 3" target!  This is shooting the FX 10.3 graain Pellets!  Not too shabby...  The slight deviation is probably me, not the gun!

The Dreamline is quite a versatile platform, and the DreamTac iteration is both compact and it looks great. I am shooting mine at .177, .22, .25, and .30 cals. Accuracy is not an issue. I happen to have multiple barrel configurations and shoot them all most every weekend. Go for it.

Oh, and the .177 is shooting the JSB 13.43 Knock Outs as well as the NSA 12.5s lights out.

Yep. FYI, I was told that the platform would not shoot at .30 cal, but my buddy youtube begged to differ. AEAC has a couple of tutorials that can help you get on the right track; that's where I got most of my information.
