Got a new Leupold laser finder from my brother... want to find the best pellet, at least until I change out the kit and springs and such.
I don't have all of the chrony data, I know that
:
Crosman Hollow Points TIN 14.3gr
779.6, 776.5, 7777.4, 777.2, 779.
Avg: 761.05 fps
FPE:18.4
Since the CP box weigh about the same, they probably travel about the same speed...
I would be that the 15.9 gr JSB should be moving around 725 fps or so...because my 16gr predators have been chronied at around 730fps avg...
I don't know how fast the RWS superdome's are going as I haven't chronied them yet...next post.. Heck next time I should be exact and just chrony them all again...
The 23 yard was seated FT position. the 28 yard was sitting on a rock in my yard with the rifle balanced on elbow on my thigh. A much less stable stance than my FT position, but I feel like this gives me a good idea of the variability in what might happen if I have to sneak up on a randy racoon in my yard and have to dispatch from some semi supported stance..
I wonder what will happen when I put the new spring kit in and the FPE goes up to 21 or 22?

My B30 in .22 launches RWS Superdomes at 775 fps with less than 50 rounds shot after the installation of a JM tune kit.
I may replace the spring that came in the kit with the newer full power JM spring, just to see how much faster it is.
I'd love to get the advertised 900 fps from it, though I know it may be an unrealistic expectation.
I know, I know. Accuracy is more important than power. However, the faster the pellet travels, the less time an animal has to move before the pellet hits it, which translates into the pellet hitting closer to point of aim than with a slower velocity.
