What lubricant does the Gamo factory use for the piston and compression chamber?

 I recently rebuilt a Gamo Mach1 for a friend, there was little indication of any lube in the NP gun. I used a thin film of Moly grease on seal replacement. So thin there was zero dieseling on testing.

Have you tried e-mailing Gamo directly and asking them?? They might actually tell you, then again maybe not.

While not honestly sure what exactly gets used, I've seen it mentioned that many gun makers use some kind of combination lubricant
and rust inhibitor inside guns to keep rust from forming while they sit on shelves waiting to be sold to a customer. It's also junk and why
you see many members say they take their new guns apart, clean out the factory "lubricants" and re-lube their rifles with better products.

forum and find tons of info on tuning and properly lubing springers and gas rammed rifles.

They use general purpose grease in there, nothing special.  I recommend using a PTFE grease or Moly grease.

LOL.... yeah, I was going to say bearing packing grease.

When I took my 2007 Gamo Hunter 440 apart, a thin layer of silvery moly grease covered the spring guide, spring, tophat and piston. I remember being surprised by this apparent intelligence in factory lubrication.

No dieseling? Impressive... I was just thinking of lubing up my Gamo, and no matter what I do, it diesels.

Don't get me wrong, Precision Action loves the SuperLube, but it doesn't possess the superior coverage you will find in a Molybdenum based grease. I have used Moly grease before from an auto parts store in a pinch. It does not have the viscosity nor the high Molybdenum content that you will find in superior air gun specific moly lubes, but it will do.
