I've wanted to try one of these for awhile, but they don't pop up on Ebay much.Usually when you find them it's the kit with the various length barrels and they command a premium.I'm eventually going to get tbe Umarex S&W model 29 if they release a pellet version with a rifled barrel.

But just finding one in good condition is hard enough. The gun is a joy to shoot.

My main collecting interest is Sheridan and Crosman but sometimes something comes along you just can't say no to.I acquired this setup from the original owner who purchased it new. As far as "kits" go, he purchased the gun which included 3 speed cylinders, the barrel removal key and the barrel headspace gauge. He then purchased separately the Daisy carry case, the 4" and 8" barrels and three additional speed cylinders. I don't know if Daisy ever offered these in true kit form with the gun, case and accessories as a single offering.

Nice! I always wondered how these compared to the Crosman 38C/38T pistols. Eventually I'd like to own either the Daisy or the Crosman. You definitely see the Crosman's more regularly.

i have had a 38c, 38t & the daisy 44 & crosman 357 … the colt style grip is more to my liking (smaller) … the 38c or t are way better built … but between the daisy & 357, though internally very similar, the 44 is hands down better.CO2 season here is pretty short so I only have 3) CO2 pistols left. If I could only have 2 one would be the daisy 44.
